  1. Prequalifiying statements. Only for discussion sake, do I present the scenario below. I am not saying one team or the other, would, could, or should have been anything other than the way it turned out. You could change the team names and year if it makes you feel better. In this year's tournament in AA, Covington lost a game, then battled back to make it to the championship game. USJ didn't lose, and met them at that championship game. At the end of that one game, Covington was the new 2006 state AA champions, even though both teams had the same tournament record, 1 loss. A second elimination game would have given one team a better record at that point. I think maybe this was how it used to work? Correct me if I am wrong. A single elimination championship game always leaves the tornamament record open for discussion if one of the teams has a loss and the other team doesn't. Why did the TSSAA change the format for Baseball? Which way is better?
  2. Don't forget Ray King, formerly of Ripley High School, Lambeth, St. Louis Cards, and currently with the Colorado Rockies. He's a big boy.
  3. USJ and Covington have both played their hearts out this week, and earned an opportunity to play in today's championship AA game. Both are from the same district, 14, region 7. Have two teams from the same district ever made it to the big show to face each other?
  4. What's wrong with Dolly???
  5. 50 to 1. I would hate to sit through that game. Pretty boring after the first 10 runs. I like the 1/0 scenario a little better.
  6. Although it is a great high to make it to the state tourny, the unfortunate side is someone has to lose. Harpeth had a great team this year, and next year looks bright. Good luck guys! Congrats to Anderson Co!
  7. Bottom of 6, Gp 4, Lx 2. Top of 7th. same score. It's final GP 4, LX 2.
  8. Top of the fifth, GP 4, LX 2.
  9. Congrats to AC. Good luck next week!
  10. Congrats to the Panthers and Coach Clark. Both are a class act. Good luck next week!
  11. Congrats to the Chargers! Good luck next week.
  12. Congrats to the Bruins. Another trip to state. That's impressive considering all the obstacles they had to overcome this year. Good luck next week!
  13. Congrats to McKenzie! Good luck next week!
  14. Congrats to the Mustangs! Good luck next week.
  15. Congrats to Lexington! Take time to smell the roses along the way boys, years like this are two few and far between. You'll remember these days the rest of your lives. Good luck next week.
  16. There goes a homer, according to the radio. 6-0.
  17. I'll send my prayers. Some things just don't make sense. Hang in there Chris!
  18. I don't think USJ was importing players from other countries to play high school baseball. They had players not elligible for late tuition payments. That's a far cry from recruiting criminals. Good luck next week.
  19. If there is one thing in this world I can do, it is spit. I must warn everyone however, that the spittin' techniques I teach are not to be attempted at home. I am a trained professional with many years experience. I've seen thick spit, thin spit, clear spit, colored spit, fine misty spit, and long streamy spit. I seen spit happen while talking, and spit that just leaks at the corners of the mouth. Oh, I imagine that tomorrow's game might require some serious spittin' before it's through. It's a shame that we don't have more time to practice the boys. Spittin on the dogs, right between the eyes, is good practice. As long as Mom does not catch you....
  20. I don't know about Friday night. One would assume if he could play Monday, then he could play Friday. I did hear that he had a black eye with a lot of swelling and was very sore.
  21. I think JP might have still had life, but the oppossing team was getting a tad bit sore. I think he hit 4 of 9 starters. He has a big week next week, no need to regain his 100% back all in one game.
  22. Most of the hits didn't hurt much, but it was starting to get emotional after USJ's shortstop took the one in the face. Covington might of left JP in one inning too long. But, he did get a lot of K's.
  23. So, does that mean a matchup between Mitchell and USJ?
