  1. I heard you finally gave him a new spongebob wardrobe including the robe, towels and whitie-tighties to replace the old Barney wardrobe you gave him in the mid-80's. What a good neighbor!!
  2. And let's not forget Coach David Holcomb, I don't believe anyone would dispute that he's contributed to McMinnville wrestling on the heals of Ronnie too... and still does as one of our most steady TSSAA officials. But big congrats to Turner and crew!! No more Roach's please.
  3. Looks like Soddy and Bradley will be opposite sides a the d-1 bracket for a while, at least another year or two anyway.
  4. Rigger, you have a tremendous opportunity here, but you may not want this much commitment. For anyone who wants to help in a limited way, all you have to do is approach Jim Morgan, Mike Parker, Charlie Goss and other TSSAA, UTC officials/coaches/wrestlers or Soddy staff leaders on volunteering where ever they need you. They will give you plenty to do, even if it is moving score clocks and rolling up mats, sweeping, ect.
  5. UMMM, maybe 135, but I hope not.
  6. Bill appreciates the more experienced HS refs and he usually takes good care of them as a result... and they come One of my duties is to take good care too... in getting them Toot's, O' Charlies, Ryan's, Jim and Nicks, Legends, Shoneys, KFC, Steak and Shake, ect. They have a good day with us, as do the coaches,,, while I try to stay away in the gut reduction program.
  7. Good catch!! I thought that perhaps you were talking about me, but I forgot about some acid-reflux that particular day + my wiastline is down an inch or two in the last feww weeks.
  8. The "gut" was not too far off on this last one!! I see it even this time, with more than a crack of light - it's clear as day!! I feel it, and it's clearly on my radar screen with McCallie holding on to the close ones and Will Young stealing one in OT, a potential change at 103, 119, and no pin at 152.
  9. I was not getting involved with this, but I must admit the ref also caught coaches in the corner smirking as submission holds and threatened potential injury was executed as a method to win. The smirks continued even after the ref stopped the action. Very interesting, but the best teams still won!! I guess anything goes with some in MS, but it is brought under control usually in HS with more experienced refs and as skill and strength overpowers cheating anyway.
  10. ahhh, you just felt left out, along with the Keefer.
  11. Watch this East Lit team. They are grwing into something.
  12. WELL, AT LEAST i'M IIN GOOD COMPANY NOW, HUH?
  13. AND WHY CAN'T WE GO DOUBLE ELEMINATION st state,,, was it time constraints??? If you really think about it, this makes absolutely no sense at all,,, three days out of school for what?
  14. Possible Gauge?? Any idea on how our Sharpshooters compare to Chattanooga teams judging from common opponents? Here's a little something from this past Saturday's PF duals... Roane County 83-0, Maury 84-0, Pigeon Forge 84-0. then to... One of Tennessee's Best programs from, of course,,, Bradley/Lakeforest! It was a great fought match, with us winning 10 of the 14 weight classes and a final score of 50-21. We then went into the championship round and faced an all-star team from Williamson County and beat them 66-15. We would then have to face the winner of the Seymour vs. Bradley match. At first I thought Seymour, who is the true powerhouse MS team from East (Knoxville area) Tennessee had beat Bradley, but Bradley pulled it out in the end 39-36. So, we would have to face Bradley again for what was supposed to be the TNAAU Dual State Championship. This time our boys did a little better winning 54-18.
  15. Depends whether you consider Individual or duals, i.e., becuase of a couple of heavy hitters, region 10 will likely be a top four or five region if you go by that. Collierville or no one else from region 10 will not place in the top four again this year in my estimation. This is primarilly true because of Soddy and BC are on opposite sides of the bracket with Clarksville, Greenville, Ooltewah and Franklin battling it out for third and forth.
  16. What changes, if any, in the TWF in 2007?
  17. Any idea on how our Sharpshooters oompare? Here's a little something from this past Saturday... Roane County 83-0, Maury 84-0, Pigeon Forge 84-0. then to... 18. Frank and Pat are not afraid to broadcast their talent for all to see right before the big dance. (unlike a few out there, and you know who you are. but I'm not necessarily blaming you though ) Way to go Scott, you know your stuff!!!
  19. Congrats to Josh Peck and crew!!
  20. I've been amazed how people even try to push to get an 8th or 9th grader in TSSAA or middle school assoc. in trouble over unofficial scrimmage matches that they may have participated in. I'm glad for Mang and his very supportive Dad!!
  21. Bradley/Lakewood pinned and then came back and decisioned two of our best 8th graders (in the lower weights). Great to roll with a bunch of these future state champs (whether they go to BC, WV or Cleveland )
