I have to say I resent your assertion that taking the head coaching job at Lebanon High would be a 'step backwards' for a freshman coach, even if she does work for Chris Fryer. I am well aware of the fine job she has done and also well aware of the fine young ladies and the exceptional support system she has had to work with. It is for these reasons that I don't believe that she is ready for such a dauntiing task. LHS is a wonderful opportunity for any coach. It has terrific leadership, a wonderful student body and good, if not somewhat outdated, athletic faciliites. The only drawback is the building itself, which will be replaced in the near future. I don't like to think of it as a stepping stone but with a little good fortune, a coach could certainly make a name for themselves.
I think the Lebanon area is capable of filling a AAA roster. Wilson Central would not have won the state championship without the Lebanon 'signees'. Being able to out recruit Bud Brandon for you own players is going to be the first priority. Dilligard had trouble keeping her players home and that eventially cost her the job.
The Lebanon job is going to be a challenge, but certainly do-able. To characterize it as a backwards step for a freshman coach is absurd.
