I made my point. Our goal in a football game from a team stand point is to do the following: Control the Clock which controls the flow of the game ( by they way, we did ) and Score more points than the other team ( by the way, we did ). Those are two important aspects of any football game and if you look, a high percent of teams that win do those 2 things. The less time a team has the ball, percentage wise you have lots more opportunities to score and keep them from scoring. Yes, DOMINATING the time of possession 2 / 1 is called domination. It really doesn't matter. We won the Gold football if we only had the ball 1 minute or 40 minutes or 33 minutes. I was and did make a valuable point which it all stands true. I'm sorry if your team didn't win, or get in the playoffs, or you had a bad season. Union City also Dominating the GOLD ball count. Union City has won more GOLD footballs ( 4 ) of any team west of Nashville in the last 19 years. Another dominating aspect of the game. Everyone wants a Gold ball right ? I know you are trying to make a point and respect that but you want to cross reference my stats that's shows that any game that is played and a team wins every stat other than a passing stats pretty much sums up a dominate game. I'm done with this post. We are starting to reload for 2018. Our attention has now turned to basketball so until the first week of January, we continue to celebrate our win and will do so until school comes back into session for the winter time work outs and spring practice, into the summer and then kick off again in August 2018. Great things came Union City's way this season. Our goal each year is to win the district/region, do well in the playoffs and hope to make each level in the playoffs until the final game. This year was even more sweet as we were a favorite starting the season preseason ranked #1. Then we fell back after the Mayfield loss and Adamsville loss which made us more comfortable. we lost a lot this year and experience but we did almost each year after we won in 2009, 2014 and now 2017. The 2013 year we had our strength coming back and were loaded so our team was reset. Going into the 2018 season, we will reload at fullback with another strong young man, maybe two. Our Q B will have speed. The depth will hurt but we will be competitive once again and never count out Coach Darren Bowling and the Union City Football Team. But Trenton should be loaded and the team to beat in AA, east, east or middle. They do return speed and size. I would say Trenton will come out preseason #1 come early fall 2018.

WELL, the best I remember, they do not give away trophies for dominating any game, only if you win. We won the game, we won the offensive player of the game, we won the defensive player of the game. oh, we also "dominated" in many areas of the game. The game came west. Your point is point"less".

You are correct, Union City is way ahead of the other teams in our side of the district. As for the McMillian kid(s), the are a asset to our team for sure. Union City was going to be good anyway but they have added a lot. Now with football over, our 6'5" freshman kid ( Brown ) is going to be a impact player. Union City is loaded with shooters. They have 6 who can scorch the three point shot. Someone will be hot each game. I hate they split the district like they did but oh well. The lake county coach needs to be coaching little falcon ball. he doesn't have control of his team either. #12 can play but likes everyone to see him. He has attitude problem for sure and coach not helping things there. Lake County girls were undefeated until they played U C. U C is very young but have played the best already...was only down to the strong Westview 10 at halftime but lost by 40...lol. You play for experience and play up in preseason games, not for wins but for experience to get you ready for the regular season and tournaments. Union City is never scared to play up and have to compete sometimes. There are some ;local schools who play down for wins because they know come regular season time they can't win in district so they pad the schedule. U C should be good and go fairly deep into the playoff rounds, how far is unknown. U C can play 11 deep, boys. I have to agree, need to get a different set of coaches for any development for the basketball programs.

It's pretty amazing run for the Union City Football Team. 4 Gold Footballs in a 9 year span. 2 of those back to back with a undefeated season to add. For years, many felt that Union City shouldn't have been playing in Single A football but competition in Single A is tough, very tough. Many outside the Union City camp felt Union City should be playing double A football. Now we are in our first year and we win the Gold ball first try. It was a special season, played some of the best teams. Outside Tyner, there are other teams in our region who could have won the state. Trenton being one, Adamsville being another. You have to get hot and be healthy at the right time and Union City did just that. This years schedule and conditioning ( as it is each year ) help prepare our kids for the road to GOLD. Columbia Academy was a good team but we felt our bruising ground game was something they had not seen along with the veer. It's been proven over and over, year after year with wins and 4 Gold ball under Bowling, you do not have to pass the football a single time to win. Yes, it does help mix things up but this style of football is very hard to figure out.

Trey and his family moved to Union City back 4 or so years ago. He has had some injury issues in his young career. If he had been able to play more his 10th and 11th grade years more, he would have easily had 3000 plus yards in his career. Great young man also.

Union City by 3 T D's. No one is going to stop our offense except two Cardinal Teams, one of which is playing also next week for a state title in Kentucky, that being Mayfield. The other cardinal team ( Adamsville ), well, we stopped ourselves. Mayfield is the ONLY team that beat us like a drum. Union City's weight programs is designed to get kids this far in the season. There is NO OTHER SCHOOL locally that does weights like the Union City Team. Their practice is tougher than some of their games. I like Union City in this game. They have to stop us, we will score and control clock.

Halftime stats, U C tons of yards on the ground. Columbia stats, 7 yards running, 31 yards passing. Can you say they have never seen a defense like U C nor a offense like U C.

C A players hands on their hips. That shows being tired. this could very well be a mercy rule game in the middle of the 3rd quarter. Halftime 28 - 0 U C. U C not a pass thrown. That is how tough the running game really is.

To be serious, we only reload year after year. Our kids practice is 10 tougher than games like this. We have more injuries in practice than we do in many real games. This is just another example. It's very hard to defend our offense, very hard.

A Tornado Watch was issued at 10 PM last Friday night. A TORNADO WARNING Was issued when the Purple & Gold touched their feet on the ground in Columbia today around 4 pm. Well, we tried to tell everyone, a TORNADO just hit Columbia Academy Campus really bad, no match for the Union City Purple & Gold. 28 - 0 U C and Counting.

Dude, no one says you have to live in Martin if you are the head coach at any UTM sport. The Stewarts live in U C. I'm sorry if you can't live with the fact that U C beats Lake Co. 9 out of 10 times at anything we do. You pushed the buttons. So, you have folks who move in to lake County to work at the prison and have kids that come to school there. You have folks who live outside lake county and work at the prison but kids go to other schools. Sorry, your way off base. Like I said, you just can't accept the fact that U C beats your green and gold most of the time. I wish the Falcons the best and hope they win in football. I'm not a hater on your team. Accept the facts and move on.

Union City is way far from being down. They will play 12 deep, loaded with shooters and can run the floor. Already beaten Covington at their place. e had a freshman lead all scorers last night against Gibson County with 22 points. The McMillan players from Westview transferred over and only made what was going to be a strong team stronger. U C will be just fine and a team that should make some serious noise in the district, regional and even state tournament. We have kids who can fill the basket from 30 feet, one right after another. We have like 5 shoot guards and kids who can penetrate and create their won shot. They are fun to watch and a team many feel to make some noise.

I differ on your opinion. First, who is your team and who have you seen play. Union City has already beaten a class 4A school whop lost in the 3rd round. I will match up Union City, Trenton, McKenzie or Adamsville against any team from 4 A and down. They may loose but would give anyone a game. So, not sure what your wanting to base your quote by but unless you have seen teams in the west like the TCA's, U C's, Trenton's, McKenzie's and Adamsville's, you might want to do some research on your statement.

We'll worry about practicing and getting ready for next Friday, you people worry about next season. I will end on this board with that statement.

For all of you TIDE fans that are crying about the penalties called in the game, Union City had over 120 yards in penalties Trenton around 50 yards. So stop blaming the referees on the ball game loss. Accept the defeat and move on

Look at how many yellow flags Union City had vs. your team, it was 2 / 1 in favor of Union City with far less penalties on Trenton. . Your back up Q B is a better Q B than Bougus by far. You couldn't stop our run. To many run weapons. Our Q B had 200 yards rushing, one of our backs had close to 150 and others with less. We shot our own selves in the foot to allow your team to stay in the game. The game was not as close as the score. Trenton had 292 yards total offense...no run game at all. You can pass all you want but if you can run, you can't advance. I thought it was a great game myself. Officials were off but threw way less flags on the Gold and Black. You have a young team, you will be back next year. Give us a break....we beat your team fair and square tide21. We also had to have security in our locker rooms prior to and after the games to make sure no one stole a T V...lol. .

Union City is 100% healthy, have beaten some serious teams this year, played a much tougher schedule which will benefit them. They beat a Jackson South Side Team ( 4 A school ) which is sill playing round 3. Union City has player after player who can run the ball. They only way Union City losses this game is beat themselves.

Lake County is young...and tons of stock coming up. This is not a Lake County board but I really like them being in the finals....write it down !
