  1. Catholic will win this game. The score will depend on where the game is played. if at ND on their crappy field it will be 1-0 or 2-1. If it is at Catholic it will be 3-0.
  2. fact of the matter is that no one could keep up with Ronaldinho in a man marking scenario that is playing in TN soccer. Anyone want to say that they can run as fast as him and that he would not create space everytime he went to the ball. If you are as fast as Dinho just come on and say it on here and then say that assuming you are even close to him that you could keep him from building a full head of steam and keep him from going to goal. Those who act like highschoolers could stop Ronaldinho have no clue just how good the next level players are especially Dinho.
  3. I totally agree. The last few years there have been huge favorites going into the AAA states. Bearden had their back to back titles and Houston had their's the two years before, and we all know about Farragut's two titles before last year. I think the competition is a more level playing field this year and it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
  4. I know this thread is about the AAA vs A/AA gap, but if we are going to talk strength, historically the D2 teams have always had the strongest teams year in and year out in the state. The gap has closed between AAA and A/AA simply because AAA is a little bit down in my opinion.
  5. BigExpress I think you know what I meant when I said 60%. I think you know I was exagerrating a bit. For those who didn't understand my comment I was referring to Brandon Tarr. You know, the guy who scored every big goal for CAK last year it seemed. Also whether its 60 or 37, losing a third of your scoring with one guy leaving is tough to compensate for. CAK is still tough though. On another note I wanna say good job to my boys from Catholic on rebounding and beating Oak Ridge the other night. I don't know how good the Ridge is this year, but its a nice win none the less. Good job fellas keep it up.
  6. Thankyou LC for having some common sense. These posters think they can stop Ronaldinho or something.
  7. I think the people who say he can be stopped have no idea how good Ronaldinho actually is. He gets double and triple teamed in Europe and still scores tons of goals. He gets fouled, but what does he do, he gets the ball right back and goes on with it. when he is fouled in front of goal he scores. This is all at the professional level. Think about this level.
  8. The comment on the colleges was not meant as an insult. It was merely a question. I've gone through the process and I didn't consider myself as being recruited when I was a sophmore just because I got a brochure or general information. That wasn't the point of my comment. I have much respect for CAK's program and was not trying to knock them at all either. I merely was stating that had Catholic been in CAK's division the last 3 years those championships might be a little different. I'll stress MIGHT for those who are a little uptight about the rival. My main comment was to a keeper for my old team that seems to enjoy making big and bold predictions even though his side hasn't proven anything yet. I'd like to see a little more passion out of Catholic, like I saw in the preseason, and something more than a tie against a CAK team that lost 60% of their scoring power from last year before you start making predictions on state. I've seen you play Stallion and you are a good keeper, but as a sophmore you need to understand that making comments like that will only get other team fired up to play you. With the way I saw your side come out the other night, I'm not so sure you want that. Just keep training and playing hard and the rest will take care of itself. Your talking, as a keeper, should not be on coacht telling everyone you will beat them, but rather to your teammates on the field as a leader in the goal. Ask your 2 time All American, goalkeeper coach.
  9. I have a few comments to say about this thread. First and foremost, I am wondering how Wake Forrest is already allowed to contact a sophmore seeing as how NCAA restrictions are so tight. Second, to whoever made the comment on Catholic's past success, you obviously don't realize Catholic was in D2 and not A/AA with CAK. In fact, Catholic actually beat CAK in several of their championship seasons. After watching last night's game with both teams I'm not overly impressed with either at this stage. I've seen Catholic earlier this year and they played much better then than last night. If they can get back to that form and their short keeper doesn't try and make everyone else in the state mad with posts on here they will have a great shot. Good luck Irish, I'll be keeping up with you this year. CAK you still have a great team as well.
  10. guys we've gone away from the thread here. Sure Mitch is a cutie and I'm not sure who Big G is but Hoya is certainly a stud too. I'm changing my score but not my prediction on the winner. Catholic wins 17-9 in a double over time game. That is all.
  11. Plain and simple YES!!!!! Are you kidding me. SOmeone said it takes 11 players to win state. The fact is that you could not stop the man the entire game even with 10 guys and he'd score. Also he'd make the opposing team use all their energy to mark him and offense would not be produced. Lastly if you put 5 6 7 10! guys on him the other 10 guys on his team will be your remaining 2 or 3. Ronaldinho flat out is not just the best midfielder in the world but the best player. He kills the BEST OF THE BEST and this is no question he would win state with whatever team you put him on.
  12. Did anyone take my comment seriously, because I sure hope they didn't. Seriously though, the best players are probably middle and west TN this year, but every year it shifts. The power was in the east a few years ago with the exception of Christian Brothers so we'll see how the season pans out. For future reference upper Ooltewah is not an official area.
  13. LCsoccer is it true that you were a two time gatorade player of the year in TN. Hoya is it true that you are plotting a return to coaching? holdin it down for 101.
  14. LCsoccer is it true u are a two time gatorade player of the year in the state of TN? If so what is it like to be a wonderously skilled and supremely talented soccer player. I heard you are rooming with a future professional soccer player as well. Is that true. Please respond because I need this for a paper I am writing for my biography editing course. Holdin down 101. Peace.
  15. Hmmmmm I think not. Without Brandon Tarr scoring 90% of CAK's offense they won't win. CAK will lose 2-1. Nathan Davis will score for CAK however.
  16. I'm going to go with Webb because everyone knows Knoxville teams are far superior to Tri City teams. Webb wins in a walk 3-0. That is all.
  17. Joey Pierce, and Doug Hall Knox Catholic. That is all.
  18. This is a pointless thread, because everyone knows all the talent in the state is in Knoxville and the upper Ooltewah area. That is all.
  19. Catholic wins 2-1. Joey Pierce blasts a shot in the upper 90 with 4 seconds to go in the game giving this rival its best finish in history.
  20. Freddy Adu's biggest mistake as a player was not when he was 16 and went to the MLS, but was when he turned down a 750,000 EURO contract offered to him when he was 13 by Inter Milan.
  21. It doesn't matter that he will ride the bench. The European clubs target these players because they view them as talented players that will be able to step in. If our US players don't start going overseas to play against and with the superstar quality players that we don't have in the US then our national team will never reach the next step of being a serious contender for the World Cup. The fact is that we got to the quarter finals last time and it was our best showing ever. But look at the teams above us and there are maybe a couple we can beat, but none on a regular basis more than likely. We need our guys to go over seas and learn from the more talented players that are playing for the English, Brazilian, Argentinian and other international squads that have much better and more talented players. Sure they'll sit the bench for a while. but you cannot reach that level unless you play against it on a consistent basis. If Josh Wolf does not go if invited he will be wasting a great opportunity and won't ever reach his full potential.
