  1. On hutchins' free kick, the wall moved a little bit when Webb ran at it and the third and fourth players on the left jumped sideways and the shot snuck through about chest high I believe. Overall it was one of the most exciting games to watch this year. Both teams played well and had excellent chances. Best of luck to both teams in the rest of their seasons, they are two of the best in the state and we should be hearing about each in the postseason.
  2. joey's been playing well, but has benefitted a lot from his defense and hasn't changed and impacted games like the other top keepers
  3. Webb's keeper plays for KFC Fusion. He's come up with some fantastic, game saving stops this year. He's a senior. Also Joey has been playing pretty well this year...he would benefit a lot from getting bigger though; while he is very athletic, he just doesn't have the same physical presence in the box that many of the best keepers do. I still have to give my vote to Walker though and we will see him and Baird from Webb face off Tuesday at Bearden. Both keepers are in top form and it should make for a very exciting game.
  4. Yeah i definitely do not play for Webb, good try yourself though...the refs were more consistent on calls and talking to players than most this year. And fyi, Catholic got every foul call but one or two after Hutchins' goal. Of course Hutchins would say that to you, he's not trying to make trouble...the refs may have missed couple calls throughout the night but that wasn't even close to the most questionable one of the night. Don't try and start anything here...it was a good game on both sides of the ball and there's no reason to be sore about it.
  5. Ayres scored on a ball sent in by Eric Hultquist then Chase had an incredible volley to tie before half...both off set pieces. then in the second half Hutchins had a rocket from about 22 or so out that went through the wall to beat joey. also the refs were some of the best i've seen in quite a while. overall it was a great game, full of action. it'll be on tv this saturday at nine.
  6. I'll go with a 2-2 tie. McCallie does have many weapons but Baylor's defense is unique and difficult to get chances against. It will be one of the best matches of the year and has many implications for DII east rankings.
  7. ANSWER, i'm not sure i really follow your logic with the catholic dominating the game but webb with an easy goal...webb matches up well at every position. ricardo will give webb trouble but hutchins will do the same against catholic...beckham and nieri will have a great battle all game with marvin and stein...both defenses are as solid as any in the state and there are two excellent keepers in goal. this will be a one goal, hard fought, and well played game. again, let's hope tssaa sends one of their better refs to keep this one under control and not interfere with the outcome.
  8. fuqua take it easy...its someone you know but won't be revealed here
  9. I'd probably go with Brian right now, especially with his drop kicks. However, Patrick Baird, Leedle from Brentwook, and Blaise Smock are all playing exceptionally well this year.
  10. fuqua you need a better name ha...webb subs seven deep: Stein, Cisco, Jared, Jake and Jon, Cooper, and Flynn; there isnt a significant drop off when any of those players come in.
  11. before everyone gets going too much over catholic's subs, webb also can sub 6-7 players per game without a significant drop in quality of play. i agree with bigG about the refs. while many calls will always be argued over, especially in this game, i just hope there is a consistent ref who keeps the game under control without changing the outcome.
  12. jdr i dont really think you have a whole lot to back up those generalizations. i guarantee that both teams play extremely hard for 80 mins; Webb v Catholic is one of the fiercest rivalries in tennessee. also, webb has plenty of talent and stability in the midfield from players like marvin and stein so i'm not really sure what you were talking about there. you might want to know a little more and get a few more posts under your belt before coming out with something like that again.
  13. having seen both play i would have to give a slight edge to tanz. however, i agree that his play has declined a lot since webb played baylor last year. i can also assure you titlebound that webb4 is no one on the webb team. i know all the top players and they rarely get on here. on a side note, what the heck were ya'll doing on coacht at 6 in the morning
  14. Webb vs. Catholic on Tuesday 4/24 at 7:00...predictions??
  15. Very true...all the top teams can beat each other on a given day. I think it just depends who hits top form for the post season.
  16. Webb 1-0 over Baylor today at Webb. Really evenly matched and well played game. One soft red on Marvin Whittaker for Webb and a yellow on #10 for Baylor. Alex Hutchins had the goal on a shot from distance
  17. Yeah I think it just depends on the day for a match betwen Wishing and Parks, if Parks' is handling Kyle's serve then I think he wins fairly easily because of his better touch and shotmaking but if Kyle is on with the serve and big shots then he would take it. Bo is definitely the best and Lang second but on the right day, Parks and Wishing could probably take Lang; no one on the other hand is going to touch Bo.
  18. McCallie and Baylor are definitely the two to beat from the East right now. Keep in mind what happened at Rotary. Baylor is very strong and has very experienced players. As for the Webb v Baylor match, I think Baylor is the clear favorite especially looking at what happened last year. However if Parks, Hatcher, and Walling can keep it together and get Webb to doubles (assuming Bo doesn't fall asleep in his match and Jimmy wins) the match could swing either way. However, being at home and so good throughout the year I think Baylor takes it in a closer result than last year.
  19. Webb downed Baylor 1-0 today at home with an absolutely sublime strike from distance by Alex Hutchins. Webb is now atop the D-II standings but McCallie still has not played Baylor yet. McCallie tied Webb 2-2 at home earlier this year and both teams are now playing extremely well. The question now is who has who from West and Middle regions are going to battle these two teams for the D-II title
  20. I didn't mean to offend this many people with my initial post. I have only see Brandon play a handful of times and almost always plays in very classy fashion. I was commenting on the single game where it seemed he was a little reckless in some of his challenges and while injuries always make bad tackles look worse it seemed that he did not conduct himself to the high standard he has set for himself. David's injury is absolutely terrible to hear about. I wish him the best in healing and hope that the injury doesn't carry any lasting effects other than a scar. Also, good luck to the CAK team in the rest of the season.
  21. i may have over-reacted a little toward the tackle on the sweeper b/c he's one of my good friends but as far as the tactics i was referring to his multiple attempts to block the keepers kicks and a few challenges that seemed to be continually mistimed...i wasn't trying to make a generalization but referring to how his play looked in this game
  22. jared eisenhower has been playing really well so far this year for Webb. he had the game winner against webb and outplayed or at least matched tanner's play
  23. i agree there has been some definite lack of respect for the CAK team. and good to hear about david, at the game it looked pretty serious but good to hear he'll be ok
  24. ha very nice. the team to beat this year is Baylor, pure and simple. On another note i was told that Tariq is playing 6 for McCallie at rotary...stacking anyone?!
  25. Two very big games for all teams involved.
