  1. People who double down on religion to avoid the eternal fire they fear exists, just to avoid said fate, don't fool the deity if one such indeed exists. He/she/it will not be not fooled by that tactic. The over/under for people doubling down for that reason still burning in an eternal pit of fire and misery is that same as those who doubt it even exists.
  2. CR opened in 2008. That is not new. That's almost a decade old. I was at the first varsity game CR ever played - they got boat raced at home by a LaVergne team that ended up going 1-9. (start time was delayed by lightening to refresh the memory of anybody else who went) Indy? I think they opened around 2004. They went 1-9 in 2005 but did have a winning season in 2006. Ravenwood had some tough years before rebounding big... 3 wins in 2010...2 wins in 2011,,,3 wins in 2012 (one was over Indy who was down at the time)> As far as SC's odds for this Friday? I'll go SC 29 - HHS 25
  3. Is 7-3 not a winning record? Isn't that what Summit finished with. Or does it "not count" because new schools are not "eligible yet" to get any respect. How old does a school have to be before they are "eligible" to have respect? Maybe that will change when SC wins the state in baseball this season. The teams from region 5 will show how tough the top four teams are. Even #1 seed Cane Ridge from region 6 will have their hands full.
  4. Yep. The "Indy" school with the two year win streak Stewie played sucks pretty bad. The TSSAA gave them the #1 seed just to be nice to them. Hillsboro did hold 4 teams to 7 or less points. Summit held 5 teams to 7 or less and Stewie poured 38 on them. Just sayin OT: where will Hillsboro fit the SCHS fans and band? Can the schools switch sides and let SCHS have the big side where the press box is?
  5. And now a word from the east TN super-fan non-stop poster.... Them thar 1-9 teems gonna git a good fannee whackun' all rite. Speshullee cents they have to go on duh road. I spect that thar runnin' mursee rool clock gonna make shoor they git back on duh road uhrlee nuff to bee back bee-fore too ay em.
  6. Is this the last year of that crappola? At least three 1-9 teams are making LONG trips and all three are in for a massive beatdown. The top seeds would have been better off with a bye.
  7. This should be one of the best first round match-ups. A new school making it's first ever playoff appearance against a school that is older than most people reading this. Both coming off big wins. Whoever plays mistake-free with less turnovers and penalty yards might hang on for a win.
  8. Isn't there a 95% chance the winner of Hillsboro-Beech will host Stewie in the first round? (Barring Shelbyville losing in a major upset) I have to pull for Hillsboro. It's close to 440 which is off 24 and easy for Stewie fans to fight through some Green Hills traffic and get to. Beech would be much further away. How is parking these says at Hillsboro for football?
  9. Didn't Stewarts Creek just blow out Summit? Didn't Stewie also play three 6a teams?
  10. That would be Stew Creek's reward for playing Smyrna and Overton outside the region? Playing teams in 6a while the other two schools played somebody in 4a. The T$$AA needs to get their head out of their rectum about this tie-breaker.
  11. Did that playoff seeding math sound right? I know it's complicated.
  12. Correct me if this is wrong. If Stewie wins the final two game (this one and at Lincoln Co.)... they finish second and get a home playoff game. If they lose to Summit, they finish 4th and have to play on the road at whoever the #1 seed is from that other 5a region? (Cane Ridge?) I hope Stewie can pull this off. I went to the first varsity game ever played at Cane Ridge years ago. If Stewie brings their band to Cane Ridge and half the amount of fans they took to the Overton game, that would be about double what the visitors side at CR holds if I recall... unless it was expanded. Unless they could bring in some portable stands from baseball or whatever. But first things first. If Stewie can pull off the tall order of sweeping the last two, they would host a playoff game, right? Even though Summit beat Shelbyville and Stewie did not, the head to head win over Summit would give Stewie the #2 seed???
  13. I'll say Stewie by a TD since it's at home and they are off a bye week. Did that radio guy ever decide if he's going to broadcast the game?
  14. Like the one Oakland had around 5 years ago. And don't forget the worst of all... KARAOKE GIRL a Blackman tradition
  15. WGNS? As long as the team is wearing purple and yellow from that part of the county they might be on... like... 4 times this season. SC was on once... when they played the purple and yellow team. Games of major importance with post-season implications such as the next two games at SCHS... nah, of course that won't be on WGNS. But they will be so kind as to give the score of those games on the funeral home scoreboard report.
  16. No, the Smyrna area has no radio stations. I clicked on your link to hear some of last night's game but it wasn't on. The music was good.
  17. No problem - it's all good. You should look into broadcasting the Shelbyville @ Stewie game. Creek is only a couple of miles from I-24 in a nice suburban area. The principal Dr. Clark Harrell seems like a nice guy. He would probably welcome you most cordially.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Stew Creek won't be playing Shelbyville at Indy. Are you talking about Shelbyville at Indy??
  19. If Stewie doesn't beat Summit, then the same against Shelbyville will determine who is seeded 3rd or 4th probably? Is it overall record or head to head or region record that decides it? Stewie played 6a teams out of the region while Shelbyville was playing some 4a teams. Is this taken into consideration? Yes, I know Giles County is a good team... but Tullahoma not. But Smyrna and Overton and way tougher than playing Giles Co. and Tullahoma.
  20. After a bye week, Stewie hosts Shelbyville who just boat raced Lincoln Co. This games looks to have post-season seeding implications. I'll say Stewie at home by a TD. The what can be said about Lavergne? A team with lots of experience and talent that won't even make the playoffs. Sad.
  21. Nobody can overlook anybody anymore. Stewie probably learned that at Antioch. Having better and more talent is not a guarantee when your QB is a 10th grader who can hardly throw a spiral... but apparently he can run that wing-t offense and that bodes well for the next couple of years that will still be rebuilding years most likely.
  22. In light of Stewie's struggles to get an OT win at Antioch, I'll go with Indy by 42-14 setting up an eventual Stewie-Summit battle for 2nd place later in the season. If Lavergne loses at Summit this week... well... let the speculation start. This was supposed to be a big year for them. What can be said for them if they finish the year with a 3-7 record?
  23. Sonny Moore has Stewie about 12 better than Antioch but that would be 10 on his scale with the game being at Antioch. 27-17 maybe? As far as LHS, the roster makes it look like not much depth in the trenches. Tons more skill position players without the big numbers of big guys from what it looks like. Could be why things are going so south so fast.
  24. So what I'm hearing is: SS remains at LHS regardless and Indy runs the table making the Stewie-Summit game a battle for 2nd place** **important to getting a home playoff game, right?
  25. Do you think Ash would make SS walk the plank? Who would want the job with most of their best players graduating this spring?
