  1. Until the year the same was true for BHS vs. LC... There is a first time for everything. I really just want to see a good competitive game. No more embarrassing blowouts for Riverdale to put on their T-shirts.
  2. Yes maybe we are getting our hopes up too high. Maybe Riverdale will knock us back to earth. We'll find out Friday night. Personally I don't care if we win against R'dale as long as there are no more blow outs that way we wont have to read a banner about the score over the last 5 years being something to the effect of 148-42. But hey it has never hurt anyone to hope or believe in something, STRANGER things have happened than BHS beating RHS. Should be a great game can't wait for friday! Go BLAZE!
  3. While I am in no way suggesting that Blackman is a powerhouse, I still think that they stand a good chance Friday. Now instead of looking at the Riverdale game as an 'oh no! how bad will it be this year' the majority of the student body is looking at this game as the first real chance of beating Riverdale. Blackman is very fast on defense and has proven that the can stop the run. (although the wing-t is a much more complex run offense) After beating LC, I believe that our team has the confidence that they can beat a team they've never beat before. Blackman 17 Riverdale 14 Go Blaze! Show some BLACKMAN PRIDE!
  4. I agree that no one in the region has proved themselves as a powerhouse. As of right now I would pick Riverdale, Smyrna, Lebanon, Blackman. (no order) However even after last week's shutout of LC I still pose a few questions about Blackman: 1. Can the offense produce the points to win against R'dale, Smyrna, Oakland? Even though BHS shutout LC that game should have easily been 35-0. 2. If Blackman falls behind can they tough it out and comeback? 3. Does Blackman's line have what it takes to play 4 very physical quarters? 4. Can the defense stop the pass? (didn't do to well against Lavernge) 5. Can Blackman protect the football? All of these questions I guess will be answered Friday night when the Blaze take on Riverdale. Go Blaze! And Let's See som BLACKMAN PRIDE!
  5. This is definetly a different Blackman team, now they have what it takes to play 4 quarters, and now that this senior class has dominated someone who has usually just taken them to the woodshed who knows maybe we can get Riverdale. While I am not ready to say that we will definetly beat R'dale, I am ready to say that this will be a heck of a football game. At LC, Blackman stuffed the run and didn't do too bad against the pass either. They did however make some mistakes on offense. If the score is low then it is Blackman's game to take. And I believe that we can and will stop the run. Blackman's defense wins the game: Blackman 17 Riverdale 14
  6. Great win last night for Blackman, much better defense this week than we had at Lavernge. My only complaint is that our offense didn't convert. The score could have easily been 35-0. Got stopped on fourth down on the six yard line. Another time we got ripped off inside the ten. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't a personal foul result in an automatic first down? And finally we botched a couple of snaps in the redzone. But great defensive domination by BHS, I can only remember 2 or 3 drives in the second half for LC that crossed the 50. Now let's go take it to Riverdale and prove that this wasn't a fluke!!!
  7. I think the blaze go to LC with a chip on their shoulder. After tyingthe Lavernge game and then losing with 28 seconds left. If the offense performs, which I think will happen this week, I take Blackman. BHS 28 LC 20 By the way does LC use a passing offense or rushing offense?
  8. I was very disappointed last night. Our pass coverage was horendous taking nothing away from LaVernge but they ran the same pass play all night and it was wide open every time. Blackman's coaches never adjusted. Then on offense we could run up and down the field but for some reason in the 2nd and 3rd quarter we began to throw passes instead of running. Also there were too many dumb penalties and mistakes made on offense. I am proud to say though that we are much better than last year, but the pass coverage has got to improve or I think it might end with results like last year. But stick with it who knows maybe LC and R'dale will hold off on throwing the ball.
  9. We played fine against shelbyville, our first team only played two drives, they were very solid except for one play on defense where they gave up a long pass. The offensse had no trouble moving the ball. Then the JV came in and played against S'ville's varsity and that is how it ended up tied. This game though all depends on the first quarter if Blackman gets an early lead I look for the Blaze to win by 10+
  10. I thought BHS varsity played very good. They for once all looked like they were on the same page and no one on first team was really confused. The line has gained some size and was actually standing up Shelbyville all night. Yes not having Wheeler and Strahan hurt but both should be back by the Riverdale game. The defense was what I was most impressed with. The were stopping the run in the backfield and putting pressure on the QB. There were some issues in pass coverage but those can be fixed. I think they are a 3rd or 4th place team in the region and might surprise one of the powerhouses this year.
  11. Good because that would be stupid. Why get ejected? Then you would have to sit out the next game and we need everything against Shelbyville.
  12. Did you go to the game tonight what happened? I heard vaguely that someone was ejected in the BHS game
  13. Riverdale by 7 six seconds left. Congrats R'dale. But no thanks for putting Oakland in our side of the bracket!
  14. Did someone get ejected in the Blackman game? I swear I heard that on the radio. Wow what a blowup! From being up ten shooting 66% to losing by 9... What happened?
  15. Yeah snow has really slowed roads are in good conditions.
  16. I'm over towards Blackman and it is coming down harder and starting to stick again. Oakland Grad you should see this in a few minutes.
  17. Anyone have the Blackman vs. FC score?
  18. Siegel can't figure it out. Both times they have played Blackman the started in a zone. Both times Siegel got shredded. Then they would switch to man which would get them back in the game only to go back to zone and watch Blackman run away. How high do you have to finish in the district tourney to make it to regions?
  19. I seriously doubt that we play that bad against Cookeville again. We played one of our worst games definsively and didn't do much better offensively. Let's just hope that we play before the Riverdale Siegel game, that way we won't be looking ahead.
  20. Oakland dominates but it might be a little closer than the last game. Warren Co. has improved. No Oakland doesn't get the hundred not worth getting someone injured. But hey if you want it that bad, be my guest to risking a major injury before the tourney.
  21. The region overall has improved. CC lost a lot of talent and with the increase in the rest of the region CC has been left behind.
  22. I agree with Blazin' Speed... You're nailed BlackmanPride08. By the way, are we playing at Siegel tomorrow or not?
  23. What is wrong with Blackman? With the exception of the White County game we haven't played basketball in 3 weeks. And this is a very bad time to not be on top of your game.
  24. I think the difference in the game is which Blackman team shows up. The one who scores 14 and 20 in the first half against Lebanon and Oakland. Or the team who sticks 84 on White County. I hope AC can hit a shot on Tuesday. I'll stick with Blackman 55-47.
