  1. Mose Phillips or Coach Overton would be good hires!!!!!
  2. As we all know a schools freshman football season can tell you a lot about a schools future so for those interested I'm trying to keep up with the scores and ranking. If you know the score of any metro freshman football games send me a reply so I can add it on. Thank you!!!! School W-L School W-L Antioch 3-0 Hunters Lane 3 - 0 Glencliff 1-2 Maplewood 2 - 1 Hillsboro 3-0 McGavock 0 - 3 Hillwood 1-2 Stratford 1 - 2 Overton 0-3 Whites Creek 1 - 2
  3. Wait a minute now, I dont remember Gallatin getting early tickets to the Bluecross bowl either now, so dont be talking about metro like you all are Maryville or somebody good or something
  4. From what I know the only teams from Nashville are: Hunters Lane and Stratford. So I'd like to know the other schools also.
  5. Good question! I know East Literature football players play for Stratford. Where does a MLK and Hume Fogg football players play?
  6. Ha Ha good post now it is true that Im crying a little but some of the better players on Pearl-Cohn's teams thoughout the years in all sports have come from this school and also Rolando Shannon (6-4 280) who is now at Carson-newman on scholarship playing football and was a one of the best lineman in metro a couple of years back went to NSA.
  7. Many of you dont know but athletes that attend Nashville School of the Arts have in the past played sports for Pearl-Cohn. Now the rule on those students have been changed. Athletes that attend NSA (Nashville School of the Arts) now have the option of playing for their zoned school or playing for Hillsboro. Now if you were to tell me that the school is to far away from Pearl and they will now be playing for Glencliff which is the closest High School in the area fine but how do they pull Hillsboro out of their hat. Im a reasonable man so if someone can make me see how this is totally unfair to every other high school in the mid-state go ahead.
  8. These are the scrimmages I was told about but I wasnt there for any: Whites Creek lost to McGavock, Glencliff lost to Maplewood and Stratford beat Brentwood High. If I was wrong or anyone knows about the rest let me know.
  9. Now I love when people defend their team but your playoff teams have won 1 playoff game in the last two years. I dont know what the toughest region is but the Ravenwood region has been taking you to the woodshed lately. Your right there isn't much that seperates teams 1-4, thats because every team except Gallatin isnt very good. Now I love metro football and the day your the best I'll be the first to say but your far from the toughest region.
  10. Over the last couple of years Whites Creek, Hillwood, Stratford, Pearl Cohn, Antioch and very soon Hillsboro have hired new head football coaches. What school in the next year or two do you expect to be on the look out for a new head coach.
  11. Which had past problems? That I didnt know. Also Ive put those guys out of my mind you all have made good points so I just wanted some new names to check out.
  12. I already made my list of coaches I would like to see running the sidelines of Hillwood next year but I am open for discussion so if you believe that there are BETTER coaches that I should have named than defend your position, name some coaches and why you believe their good choices and you might make me their biggest fan.
  13. #71 Eric Counts 6-4 295lbs, 5.0 40yd time Stratford High School This offensive/defensive lineman is under the radar but I've talked to a couple of college coaches and they have all heard about him. Murphy Fair had him preseason all state last season and if the team wouldnt had been so terrible he might have made it. But dont take my word for it ask around and do research and tell me what you think.
  14. Chris Taylor runningback from U of Indiana, I found out is also in the draft and also Erik Davis from Vanderbilt is in the draft and could do something if he can stay healthy
  15. It might have been a stretch to say they paid their dues, there are alot of long time assistant that have not had their shot, so some of these metro schools need to join Hillwood and clean house, get some new blood in there and make metro football as dominant as it should be.
  16. In paying dues I mean putting in the time as an assistant and then proving that they possessed the knowledge neccessary to run their own team. Also how many of the first year head coaches do you believe got these coaching jobs without having any foot in the door, because in metro and a lot of other places I might add it still comes down to who you know.
  17. No, I actually dont know these guys just heard good things about them, but they are all young metro coaches who have paid their dues and all of them or even one of them might turn out to be the next Ralph Thompson(Maplewood) or Arcentae Broome (McGavock) both former metro assistants who are both young guys that got a chance. And if none of these guys get the job I'll live just as long as it does not go to some coach that lost at his last job.
  18. Metro does have some very qualified assistant coaches. Three schools in particular are Whites Creek, Hillsboro, and Stratford. Whites Creek has Rashawn Bell the def. coordinator and Eric Joyce with DB, Stratford has Jalani Overton the line coach, and Hillsboro has Mose Phillips.
