  8. Sure...Everyone (esp in East Tn) gave Oak Ridge the gold ball prior to last year's game. According to them, Ravenwood didn't have a prayer. Everyone that gets there has a chance!

  10. Just over 3 minutes to go in half...BA leads 17-13. McCallie missed XP.
  11. Will the game be back at the Fairgrounds next Friday?
  12. think you need to check the TSSAA tournament brackets and rules. Starting with quarterfinal games, the bottom teams host in even years and top teams in bracket in odd years. Only exception in quarterfinals is if both teams are from the same region then seeding determines home team. In semifinals, can't have two teams from same region so it is strictly position in bracket. That's why Ravenwood travels to White Station and Ooltewah travels to Smyrna. The winner of Ravenwood/White Station will be home team at Murfreesboro.
  13. I can't really describe for you how impressed all of those seated in our section of the stands were with Hunter's Lane. What a terrifc team and a total class operation. Frankly, I don't think anyone near us was confident of the outcome until we stopped HL on 4th down with 35 seconds remaining. Until then everyone knew that HL was potentially two plays away from winning. By far the best team speed we've seen this year (although Antioch was close to being that fast). We made a few really good defensive plays when it counted and Becker was as good as I've seen him all year. Thanks for being classy hosts at HLHS and congratulations on a great season. I'm truly impressed. By the way, I heard comments from several HL fans on the size of your turnout. Seems it was your biggest crowd this year and they were treated to a fine ball game.
  14. Gosh, I guess there's no reason for the team or any of the fans to show up if we've already lost. Golly darn, I was looking forward to a good football game and here you have to go and ruin it by telling me it's already over. By the way, what was the score?
  15. Hey...at least I acknowledged it was petty when I wrote it. Sorry you don't have a sense of humor TruBlue! Also congratulated the Wave players (and fans if you read other posts by me) for their class. Guess that slipped by you too. Did you come on the Ravenwood-Gallatin thread with a chip on your shoulder? I was a Trubluebruinfan too for a lot of years when my oldest went to BHS (and after, as well). Now enthusiatic supporter of RHS. I think your need to lighten up. Also guess you didn't read the original post by Big G.
  16. Hey HLHSWarrior...I can assure you that no one from Ravenwood is taking HLHS lightly in this game. Your team speed is well known and you've been highly successful this season and that's what really counts. You are the last team standing in 5-5A and you should be as proud of that as we are being the final 6-5A team playing. You are to be congratulated and we're expecting a great ball game tomorrow. The comments about lack of fan support for HLHS came on the message board last week that discussed the Hendersonville-HLHS game. I doubt any of the Ravenwood fans would know what kind of fan support you have since we haven't been at HLHS games. You can rest assured, however, that Ravenwood will pack the place because, in case you haven't heard, "We Believe!"
  17. Hey Rapbwood...probably time to cool it. Getting a little out of hand and not a lot of benefit to anyone at this point. I have to say, from a personal standpoint, I always tend to believe the other guy in a discussion unless i know for a fact that something they said is wrong. I admire anyone who spends their life in education and have to believe that last Friday was just an uncharacteristically bad day for Jeremy. I have no evidence to the contrary. In the meantime, I believe! Go Raptors!
  18. Duh...what part of left field did you come in from. Before you decide to jump in on a string, maybe you should take a minute or two and read what is being said. You don't even know which school the writers are from or are supporting in their posts. Get a clue, cumberland. You want to talk smack...go back to your smyrna-riverdale forums. I got tired of the pettiness on those just like the pettiness on the farragut-ooltewah forum so I choose not to read them. Seems to me that big people will just let the kids decide on the field instead of running their mouths.
  19. Guess you just weren't paying attention. I missed it too at the game (saw the flag but didn't know why it was thrown) but saw it clearly on the replay of the game. So did the ref and the coach. Ref threw the flag about twenty feet in the air and you could tell by his demeanor that he was upset. Coach immediately called "Buc" (as you call him) off the field and good ole "Buc" slowly sauntered off the field. By the way, Becker wasn't 'trying' to take a knee...he had been there for a couple of seconds when good ole "buc" came over and shoved him to the ground. The one thing you said that was correct was that "that would not be acceptable at all". If you still doubt this, order a copy of the game DVD from the Ravenwood HS video department and see for yourself.
  20. Check out Google Earth...you can actually count the rows. Pretty cool!
  21. Just finished watching the replay of the Ravenwood-Antioch game on Williamson County Gov't Access TV. Buchanan's behavior was worse than I realized even though I was at the game. Besides his play simply being mediocre throughout the entire game...made one reception and a couple of tackles and the rest of the time he was just standing around and wandering slowly back to the line of scrimmage or huddle. The coach actually pulled him from the game on the last play because of Buchanan's unsportsmanlike penalty on the second to last play. On that play, he decided to go knock Becker over while Michael was kneeling on the ground. After the game, Buchanan proceeded to walk the sideline in another display of poor sportmanship while his teammates were lined up to shake hands with their opponents. By the way, I was watching for this after reading your post, and he never once helped Laidlaw off the ground so I don't know why you felt it necessary to make that up. Our right tackle (Snowy, #60) outplayed Buchanan all night long when he lined up on that side. Sorry UofA, he may be your brother, but you need to have a heart to heart with him about sportmanship and class because from what I saw on Friday and saw even more on the replay, Jeremy had neither.
  22. Looks like about eleven rows...almost the same as the home side, but the length of the stands are about 40% of the home side. Probably will be similar to Antioch which was way too small for the Ravenwood crowd. I'm sure we had more Ravenwood fans than did Antioch and, from what I'm learning on this string, will probably be a LOT larger than HL. Check out the lack of parking as well. The RHS announcements page on the school website states that cars parked on the streets surrounding the campus will be ticketed by metro. Looks like the grassy areas around the school will get a workout.
