  1. Read on another thread that TSSAA is wanting to place T-town back into Coffee's region and drop Cumberland Co. Any truth to this? If so, that will add more excitement to our reigon. What's ya'lls take on this?
  2. Would that be a sarcastic comment or a legit one? Just curious. Me being the coach...hmmm..now that's an interesting endeavor that I would like to tackle. *no pun intended* I just might look into that and see what the school would think about that.
  3. Exactly...I made this thread to see what other people thought of the points I made and a chance for them to counter my points with their own or go along with my points. So come one ladies and gentlemen, start making this thread livelier, I'm actually expecting 5A Fan to chime in...we'll just have to wait and see..
  4. As we all know, Coffee Co.'s season came to a halt last Friday as we got hammerd by a very talented Smyrna team. Being a Raider Fan for quite sometime and going to all their games since 1999, I feel that some things need to be brought up in what I think could help better the team for next season. I encourage anyone and everyone to take part in this as I think this would drive home some points. 1. Graham gave away to much on his passing game by not checking off his recievers. Instead, he would only look at his intended reciever. Not a good thing, we need to find a QB capable of doing that since Graham is graduating this year. 2. If we're going to rely heavily on the run game, then by all means, stop running the ball up the middle the entire game. Bounce the runs outside and you can gain positive yards, unless you play a team like Smyrna that has good closing speed on defense. 3. It's ok to rely on the Wing-T formation, just don't use it on every play. It's a good formation for running, but we need to add more to our play book. 4. Defense, with the exception of a few, needs to learn to tackle. I saw quiet a few good tackles made by Harris, Irons and Ciselski. (not sure if I spelled his name right) Majority of the time it was looking like we were playing two hand touch instead of a full contact game. Don't over pursue your opponents. It's kinda hard to sack a QB when you blow right past him. 5. Pass Defense...it was good seeing that Harris was lined up with #5 from Smyrna the entire time that #5 was on the field. Only complaint...don't give him or any reciever a 5-8yrd cushion. That opens up the short game which in return can yield big yardage or not. Don't let the reciever catch the ball either. Watch alot of college and pro games, you see the Saftey's and Corner's man up on the WR's and break for the ball as it gets there or before hand. 6. Finally Special Teams...you can't tackle a guy using just your arms unless your going for his legs, then that may work. Lay your body on the guy and tackle that way, wrap him up. Another thing, if you have six guys around the punt returner, dont just stand there and let him run by you like your not there. Alot of Coffee Co. fans complained about that Friday night. Now of course I am aware that alot of people will disagree with what I've said and I'm expecting that, but I'm also sure that alot of people will agree with me. Chime in and let me as well as others know what would work and not work.
  5. Great season Tullahoma...we'll see you next year in the Coffee Pot game!
  6. I didn't get to make it to the game due to prior arrangements. But what I've read it sounded like it was a really good game for us Coffee Co. fans. This win means we've got 3rd place and Smyrna....right? Good luck to Warren Co. next Friday as well as Coffee Co.
  7. I talked to Davis Nolan today about the weather condition for tonight. He said a chance for spotty rain here and there but nothing to worry about. The severe stuff, which is the reason to move the game from what I was told, will be down in Georgia and Alabama, no where near us, and that's straight from News 2's Davis Nolan. Good luck to my hometown team Coffee Co. wish I could make the game but I'm off to the Predators game tonight. If we beat Warren Co., then it's off to Smyrna if I'm reading it right. And from what I've heard Smyrna started off strong but kinda died off towards the end of the season. Not really sure how much of it is true or not, just alot of hear say. Anyways good luck to Coffee Co. as well as Warren Co. Play hard and may the best team win!
  8. I'm not into predicting scores so I want. I think that Coffee Co. has a slight edge in this game. Granted we have the same regional record as Warren Co. does, I think Coffee Co. can come out victorious. I dunno if it'll help that we have two rb's over 1,000yrds or a QB thats over 1,000yrds, that could also hurt us as the defense will more than likely be keying in on those three. But it can also help as it can open up more oppertunities. I just don't see that happening as it is Senior night for Coffee Co. and all of our Seniors will be playing the majority of the game...I think! Anyways, I just look for a great game between both teams and hopefully as mentioned Coffee Co. comes away with the win. Good luck though to Warren Co.!
  9. Congrats to Baylor on the victory, and congrats to Massey for going over 1,000yrds for the season as well as Goins and Le-Hawkins...and last but not least, I'm very impressed with Coopers ability to run the ball. I kinda of think of him as a Jamal Lewis, but a buddy of mine said Jerome Bettis, either way he's a heck of a RB and I know as well as others can not wait to see him in D1 and I hope that he makes a full committment to UT, I think it's still a verbal one at the moment, but not really for sure. Either way I enjoyed the game and really have nothing to complain about as I'm sure others will....not meaning to sound harsh but it's late and I'm tired and I say whatever is on my mind! Good luck to Baylor for the rest of the season!!!
  10. As much as I hate to say this I'm going with Baylor in this one. I hate not going with my team, but it's gonna be hard to stop a 6'1" 240lbs freight train by the name of Kevin Cooper, not only is he a RB but he plays LB as well so it's just gonna be a long night for Coffee Co. However, I still think this game can be a close one if Coffee County comes with their A game. I just hope that Baylor dosen't manhandle us like they've done in most of their games. Good luck to both teams Friday Night...may the best Red Raiders win!
  11. I didn't get to make it to this game, but a buddy of mine kept me informed of it. Sounded like it was good up till the 4th quarter. Coffee Co just needs to forget about this game and focus on Baylor. If I remember correctly I think their RB is like 6'1" 240....I think...he's already committed to UT Knoxville. His name is Kevin Cooper. He runs a 4.7 40yrd dash. Powerful I'd say so. His junior year, he rushed for 1,054 yards and 15 TD's on 154 carries. He also recorded 29 receptions for 241 yards. So he's looking like a pretty good threat. I'm not sure about the rest of the Baylor team. This will also get added to the Baylor/Coffee Co. thread when it gets started. Good luck though to the Falcons for a great game next week against Cookeville I think.
  12. Very well stated. I think with this bye week and Coffee Co. coming off a big regional win against Franklin Co., they'll be ready for Lincoln Co., and I honestly believe that Coffee Co. can go into this game and come out with the victory. Coach Price will be ready for the Falcons as well as the Raider football team and Raider Nation. I know I'm pumped for the game, just reading this forum has done that much...lol. 5A Fan, how many more yards does Le-Hawkins and Goins need to break 1,000? Or did Goins get his 1,000yds at the Franklin Co. game? What's the lastest on the injury report as well? I'm not going to predict a score, I just wanna see a good game between two quality football teams. I've heard some people around Manchester saying that this game is compared to a Tyson-Holyfield fight...before Tyson bit the ear...lol Does anyone else agree to that besides me?
  13. Absolutley impressed with the way Harris made. I had that much right...2 INT's for him. Great game over all though. I do agree with pedo_29 It was kinda messy at first but after the first TD I think the Raiders got into the zone. And what's up with Chip, our PA guy callin Intentional Grounding, Illegal Grounding? LOL. Crazyiness. Just curious, how much more yardage does Graham, Goins, and Le Hawkins need to make 1000 yds. Now, I'm not sure but Graham may of hit that mark last night, 5A Fan, your the stat man, how'd they do? And when was the last time Coffee Co. had three players with 1000yd seasons?
  14. I like the prediction, but wow that kinda lost me...and it was almost like reading a foreign language...lol Let's just hope to have a good game tonight, and hope that the best team wins, and we have some pretty good refs...
  15. great, now if we can only get adcock and irons at 100%
  16. He should be 100% for this weeks game...from the reports I've heard.
  17. We all seen how Coffee County can bounce back from a tough loss. Granted it was against Cumberland Co., but still it shows alot of heart in this team. We lost last week to John Overton, which is again a tough loss, so let's see how the Raiders respond this week. I don't think weather will play a factor this week, supposed to be nice from what I gather. If the raiders can keep their heads in the game, spread the field like they did against Cumberland, have no idea what they did against John Overton since I wasn't there, then Coffee Co. can produce some big numbers. As mentioned with Harris returning, I see a double digit W for Coffee Co., and Harris having at least 2 INT's. Good luck though goes out to Franklin Co. Let's see a good game!
  18. As some may know this Friday night is a regional matchup between the Coffee County Red Raiders and the Franklin Co. Rebels. What does everyone think about this game? Me personally I think it should be a good game for the Raiders, and they walk out of Carden-Jerrel Stadium with the W. Any other opinions?
  19. I totally agree wingman...we'll see this friday night how coffee co. rebounds from this loss to john overton. I just hope that some of our key players are healthy enough to make an impact in this weeks game against Franklin Co. How is Franklin Co. doing this year anyways?
  20. yeah he's like 6'11" 320lbs....only like a soph or junior this year. He can be a force if you come upon him on the field. I think we could use him on like 3rd and 4th down short yardage plays...just give him the ball and let him run with it...lol
  21. Unless he was hurt in the Cumberland Co. game, he had the big cast on his hand off. Of course, I dunno what happend in the practices leading up to the John Overton game. Since I wasn't at the game Friday night I can't really answer that question for you. So hopefully that helped just a little.
  22. I wasn't at the game at all last night. So can anyone kinda throw out some stats for me? Wish we could of won, but there's always next week against Franklin Co.
  23. I have no idea about Overton either, but I'm still gonna root for my home team...Coffee Co. Red Raiders...however I can not make it to this game... Good luck to the Raiders and Bobcats as well!
  24. Being a former member of the award winning Coffee County Central High School band from 1999-2001, I would like to wish each and every band out there good luck throughout the marching season. If ya'll are like me, I absolutley loved marching band! I know that this year's Coffee Co. band is nothing compared to what I was in, not taking anything away from them, but they can do much better. If Mr. Damewood was still directing the band, they probably would be. I think Coffee County's show needs a little more excitement to it. Just like we always did in my high school days...like for instance my senior year our show was called Latin Persuasion, and our opener was Malaguana *sp* we started off with a blast. There wasn't many awards that we never won. I'm glad though that Coffee County did well in the guard. The guard from my time in highschool was a weak link, but we never let them hold us back from playing our hearts out and actually caring about what we played. I think there's just too much playing around this year. On to Tullahoma.....what can I say, they always have awsome shows, this year is no exception. Just wish I could of heard it better at the Coffee Pot game. I would love just to one day judge a competition. I was on the drumline so that's where I would be stronger at judgeing. Anyways, again Good Luck to each and every band this year!!!
  25. I was real impressed with your bro's sack. That's gotta be big for him. The kickoff's he can work on during the freshman games and if he plays anymore for the Highschool team. He's just gotta practice and he'll get better at special teams.
