  1. Oh yeah!! It is like Pickett county, I am pretty sure that their coach in the elementary ball runs the same offense as the high school. That makes it tremendously easy for them to transition. I didn't get a chance to make it to Burks this year, and that is unusual. Coach hoover is a good coach for sure, He makes them learn the fundamentals and teaches them everything they need to know to make it work in High school. I feel that with the proper time, coach West can get the ball rolling on the mountain again. This year the team is fast, they never give up, they have great team chemistry, and they have won more games this year than they prolly have the last 2 or 3 combined. That make me think that things are on the rise!
  2. Yup I hear ya there, I've heard stories about that team, my dad was on it. He always told me that the teams I played on wouldn't want any lol. I hope you didn't think i was being smart or anything, I was just wondering if you were talking about Burks. Hoover does a pretty good job over there now. I also agree wholeheartedly that it is time for the High school to get in there again! GO CATS!!
  3. Actually panther there were 2 more teams that I know of that went when coach Foust coached before the times of Burks. I don't know if you meant that they were the first to go there with Burks, but the senior group of 2002 and the senior group of 2003 both went to the James C. Haile tourney while they were in junior high. 2002 team got 3rd, and the 2003 team was runner up if I am remembering correctly.
  4. Dont know any details, but I'm from Monterey. Just got a text that the Wildcats won 33-6.
  5. This game was way closer than the score indicated. Monterey was up by 8 at the half when the buffaloes turned it up and went ahead for good in the 3rd. Back and forth game and Monterey played with alot of heart. those guys under the goal did an excellent job. And that number 13 can shoot lights out when he gets warm. I played against him in a summer league last year and he is tough to handle. It was a great game to watch good luck to both teams the rest of the year. GO CATS
  6. what does everyone think about this matchup?
  7. After a first basemen misses a couple of balls yellin "Hey first You have hands like a foot" thumb

Hey muffin how are you doing? Monterey played like they did this weekend and won 14-3 i think.
  9. I would have to say that to me it is probably up there with the best field houses in not just the mid-state but in the state. This saturday was perfect as far as weather not a cloud in the sky. It was just a great feeling to see his number retired and to look at what the facility has become. If you didn't know Alex then you really missed out. I played travel ball with him for two years. And you would not find a nicer guy. If you get the chance to check out the field house do it because it is top notch.

Actually I am not in school right now. I am working in a pharmacy trying to get everything I can paid off. I am not sure I would want to go through surgery for one year either. I am hoping to get my car loan paid off, with that being said if I can get it paid off in the next 8 or 9 months then I dont know what my future holds. I have been throwing and running so I may try to correct my mistake I made a few years ago. Not sure, but thinkin awful hard about it. how did you like playing at Roane?

Yeah Cumberland did offer me half tuition. I had to cover the books, and the housing and other expenses. I had also just bought a car and thought it would be a good idea to get a job and go to tech. If they (tech) would have offered anything the situation may have took a turn. I made a mistake that I see now and wish I could go back about three years so if anyone offers anyone anything and you like the school at all and they are going to pay for your school TAKE IT or you will definately regret it. Three years ago I was just young and dumb. Green are you still at Roane?
  12. The field was definately too wet to play. It was a muddy mess. When you can't walk on the infield without sinking then you definately can't run on it.

Muttman I challange you to a karate match. I have the reflexes of a cat and the speed of a mongoose. So for you to drop the inferno bomb you better do it quickly . I also know Judo and another japanese word so there ya go. lol hopefully i will see ya on the mountain tonight will you be there? should be an interesting matchup between the bulldogs and the wildcats.
  14. Congradulations on the 1 year an. you need to consider paying $12 and become a plus member so you can see what the whole site and all of the forums have to offer. I think you would enjoy it. Plus it is only a dollar a month. thumb
  15. Clarkrange won the game 70-28 an impressive showing for the lady buffs Their defense was overwhelming and BBS had a hard time against the pressure defense right from the start. Good luck to Clarkrange in the boro
  16. TO RSQUARRED, Aman to that I am a reds fan myself. BUT.. My second favorite team is quite the opposite of yours. Even though my 14 year old brother could pitch better than a lot of their starters I have grown up in a Yankee home. I can't help it, I have just always liked them since they had don mattingly and wade boggs. Don't hold it agains me please lol. I just hope that next year "tight wad" Steinbrenner (sp) will let loose of some of that money to get some pitching. And If we can get Schilling, pedro and lowe that would be fine with me. thumb
  17. I have watched clay county and gordonsville play this year. Clay is pretty good on defense up front. BUT.... Gordonsville can and will throw all over them Dusty Ray should have a pretty big game I would imagine. CCHS needs to do alot better on Offense to be able to beat the tigers. Just my opinion.. Good Luck to both teams.. thumb
  18. DLU07 If you dont mind can you tell me which fed ex you work at? I worked at Fed Ex ground in cookeville just wondering if we may have worked together? thumb
  19. Yes, i will agree swanson. I saw FCS play Monterey and they are the real deal. They have talent all over the place and their quarterback solid as a rock . He has a cannon, he has touch and he can also move pretty darn quick. I really hope Gordonsville gives them a run for their money but I just don't see it happening. If I had a guess I would say Friendship will win this one with little trouble. Good luck to everyone and God bless..
  20. This was an extremely exciting game. Both teams played pretty well. It was back and forth one big play after another. Monterey moved the ball alot better than last week. Gordonsville has a pretty dog gone solid team, and yes their quarterback is the real deal he made some excellent passes, and ran the ball effectively as well. Great game to watch.
  21. thanks for the respect and calmness of your post . The two from Monterey are fine they both had concussions but they should be able to play this Friday. From what I have heard this should be a good game with Gordonsville having a strong quarterback. But, you have to remember Both teams have 11 players on the field at the same time and 1 cannot win by himself.. Good luck to everyone.
  22. hehateme where do you go to school??
  23. And if i am not mistaken Aren't Pope and DCA and CPA all private schools? And if all these stinky 1A Public schools are not giving you enough competition, Play all private schools I'm sure it won't hurt anyone's feelings.

I am sorry but I played for Monterey for 4 years and 2000 and 2001 was when i was a sophmore and junior and I don't remember pickett beating us but once i think. We did have a close game that went into what seemed like 100 innings but we won that game, now i might be mistaken but i am pretty sure i am not. good luck to pickett in the region if you get friendship take em' to school.

What is going on everyone, this is michael peters. It has been a little while since I have been on here. IF there is one thing that I can say in this matter, it is that I know Loop is a great coach. He knows how to bring out the best in his players because he works their butts off, and if the kids are willing to listen and respond to what he teaches them, there is no doubt in my mind that they can be right in the mix for another district title. I can't wait until the RBS Monterey game. Good luck to everyone and WHat is going on Coach Elrod.
