Oak Ridge didn't want to scrimmage Science Hill.

I agree with etfan on the top 4 teams of the conference, but not sure yet what order they will be in. I think most people will agree that Bearden is probably the team to beat this year. But, to say Science Hill is a one man show couldn’t be farther from the truth.

The score was 2 to 2. Science Hill had a pick and ran it back. I thought Greenville looked pretty good. The QB for Greenville had good zip in his throws. I thought Science Hill looked okay, I've seen better from them. Did Greenville have their starting linebackers in there on defense or where they all defensive backs? The reason I ask is because I thought Greenville looked small on the field compared to Science Hill. Greenville, I liked the green helmets.

I agree 100% topvol98! Our kids are more confident, stronger, faster and quicker heading into the start of the preseason. The young men seem to have more camaraderie and motivation than this time last year by 200%. There is a lot of excitement.

I agree for the most part. Everyone has to remember that football IS the ultimate team sport. Phillips needs protection and needs good hands people. Duanah needs the big boys up front to open holes. It’s GOT TO BE A TEAM EFFORT.

The Addidas my son wore last season held up well (he is well over 200lbs), so he got another pair called Addidas Paydirt. So we'll see how they hold up this season. He wore UA gloves and wanted another pair just like them for the upcoming season.

Lets NOT name names in a negative way . . . kids can make big changes in a single year. P.S. Of course I haven't ruled out the possibility of a little reverse psychology going on here.

Hiring Scott Smith is an attempt to win state championships "." Not just to beat D-B, (which is definitely a high priority) or to go 2 or 3 deep in the playoffs. Science Hill has state championships in other major and not so major sports at The Hill, so we desperately want a state championship(s). Should be the goal of everyone. The Hilltopper faithful are sick to death of mediocrity. We believe we have our head coach and assistants in place to achieve our goal. But, one thing is for sure . . . time will tell. Are we a bit jealous of D-B? Yeah I think so . . . who wouldn't want the success and respectability D-B has had and has, plus . . . what 12 or 13 state championships? Yeah, we want what you have in Kingsport, plus more. If we don't make it to a state title game, I hope it will be you all. I am not just for SH, I am for the success of all our local teams from 1A to 5A. After all . . . SH and D-B are the only local 5A teams in our area.

Good post, compusatman . . . I feel like South is a very formidable and challenging out of conference match up. I can assure you South will have The Hill's full attention come Aug. 23rd . . . I can't wait . . . The sky will be full of footballs!

Who the heck from SHHS is bashing D-B?? Looks to me like some of you guys are way to sensitive! Sure we play the locals too. People like to go watch their (local) team play, whether you’re from TN High, Betsy or wherever. More people, more money. I don't think to many locals want to go see a team from Murfreesboro play much less travel 4+ hours down the road to watch a high school game. "Just my opinion." plowboy2, just relax . . . deep breath . . . don't you worry about Gilligan taking care of the ship over here, he is quit capable and when we meet on week #10, we will see who is still standing when the smoke clears. Definitely, Hampton to win conference and go very deep in the play-offs. Lots of team speed! I was told Hampton put a whippen on Crockett and Unicoi in the scrimmage games back in the spring.

I was told that Sharp first left SHHS because of politics in baseball, but has since quit playing. I know first hand the politics of the baseball program.

As of right now only one transfer is making an immediate impact.
