  1. How come every Mayville fan thinks it's going to be a blowout, but every high school football fan posting on this has predicted the game to be close?
  2. Alcoa has a four-way scrimmige a week from today and they have the jamboree August 17 I believe. The four-way scrimmige involves Alcoa, Faragut, Mo West, and South Doyle. Don't know where the site is right now. I'll post back when I know.
  3. I see your point from the financial standpoint, I will agree. But come on most teams will bring more than 300 fans won't they? At least if it is supposed to be a big game. When RHS played WK they filled the away stands and then had to stand all the way around the fences.
  4. You also have to remeber that TR is a Sophmore so he is definitely not as good as Douglas yet. There's probably about 70 kids on Alcoa's squad this year. They look good.
  5. Okay, but for some reason I've never seen a TN team ranked with a loss in the top twenty-five in any of those high school polls unlike most of the teams from other states who can lose and still be in one of those " Oh so true" magazines and polls. I'm not sure because I've not had time to look it up yet but hadn't those two Brentwood and Germantown teams lost at least one game? So they couldn't get put in any of those "true" polls. The fact is that you cannot trust any of those polls because they usally lean toward certain states. Ex. Texas may have five teams with a loss, Alabama may have four teams with a loss, S and N Carolina and Georgia may have three teams with a loss, and then finaly you would find an undefeated TN team. You know it's true too because it happens every year in the USA Today, ESPN, Sporting News, and all those other polls. But since you think so highly of these polls, I'll play your game. Riverdale has been ranked in and out of those polls within the past seven years like Riverdaleman said, and I believe that some of those years they were ranked higher than Maryville. P.S. Riverdaleman, Riverdale was ranked at no. 7 on 01 and 04. I base all of this on after the season polls.
  6. And Riverdale will take Maryville to the woodshed in 2009!
  7. Should be a good game but I've gotta give it to the Govs by seven or ten points.
  8. Oh and I forgot one more thing. Yes mhs some teams that Riverdale played in the playoffs had losing records. But those teams also barely got in and were first round games with maybe one or two second round games.
  9. Okay mhs lets see hear. You supposedly just didn't slam Riverdales 4-4 record in the championship games. I would bet that that 2002 Bretwood team would have beat Maryville, that 2003 Germantown team would have probably beat them too. As for last years Smyrna team I'm not so sure of. Riverdale should have won last year but I'm glad to see Smyrana win one too. Shadowens is a great coach. I don't know what happened in 05 in 5A. Talk about a meltdown of all the teams in the playoffs. Upsets were everywhere all the way up to the championship games.
  10. Yes Solomon, CPA was scheduled for a two year contract but maybe they thought that they would back out after the beating they took. Oh well, they didn't and that was a good thing for both teams. I guess I learned my lesson though. DO eat at the Shoney's bar. DON'T listen to Mr. Nolan. Problem Solved. Wait a second... How do you eat at IHOP? YUK! Back to the main topic, is it really worth talking about it anymore? just about everyone has posted their arguement about who would win and if you haven't, go ahead and post already! Anyways, Riverdale most years. Period.
  11. You called WK a patsy, I'm just saying what WB and Heritage is to Maryville. And oh yea, what exactly is gald? I think you mean glad.
  12. You called WK a patsy, I'm just saying what WB and Heritage is to Maryville.
  13. Your crazy mhs, William Blount would have a problem with Alcoa. Yes WB is going to be big and strong but where is the speed? I'm sure there 's some somewhere but not like Alcoa's guys. Plus you have never answered me on this, when has Maryville stepped up and played outside THEIR comfort zone? Not Riverdale's, not Alcoa's, Not WB's, Not BA's, but Maryville's comfort zone. And I wasn't bragging about Riverdale beating the brains out of WK either. I was just giving an example of what Maryville hasn't done in a while. The Riverdale guys have got my back and everybody else HATES Riverdale or is in LOVE with Maryville, so why should they have my back?
  14. Anybody got a jumbotron?
  15. What do you call playing Heritage and William Blount every year? Great 5A teams? Ha! They're the real patsies! That team in Ohio was also projected to be a great team that year in Ohio. Yes they turned out to be not as good as they were said to be but that's what you get sometimes when you play outside the box. And it's not even that the team was good or not. It's that they were supposed to be good, Riverdale needed a game, and steped onto unmarked waters to play them, something Maryville has rarely done. And the Shoney's joke is really getting old. Plus it shouldn't be WHERE I herd it, but WHO I herd it from, which was Tom Nolan, aka the principal over at Riverdale.
