ACC delaying start of all fall sports until at least Sept

No school no sports . That is what posters have said.

I wish kids were in school and sports happening.

Metro schools just announced virtual learning only until Labor day, no other choice.

read what i said. I said plan on playing only to have them in a few weeks saying no. They are not saying no now to keep people happy. Just postponing the inevitable .

I think we should all just plan on them saying no to football then act surprised if we get it. I think that is what the governor/staff and TSSAA are doing to us. They are saying maybe/hopefully and then saying no!

Why make that decision today(avoid the inevitable) and continue to give hope and optimism to all of us who want school and sports.

Sadly educators in large school systems will not follow your advice . You may very well be right, but unfortunately you and others who agree with your logic will not be making the decisions. No school, no sports!!. And even if schools are open with many restrictions they may not allow any extracurricular activities. I hope you're right.

Absolutely, if you will. I am not negative, like you said,just my opinion, not even my desire .

School administrators make decisions best for everyone in school or school activities. Not the philosophy that everyone take care of themselves. If the large school systems shut down athletics the whole state will also, if not from TSSAA, the governor.

Metro has a hall of fame. I would think any coach there would be considered.

Don't get to upset with dead period happening. Get upset when no season happens. I hope this does not happen, but workouts with the restrictions does not guarantee a season. Sports most likely to be cancelled are football, basketball, and wrestling. School systems have not yet decided how the school day will be.

Nothing is fair. I am not sure it is TSSAA's job to tell schools or counties what to do. I do like your idea of doing away with dead period and starting back July 6. For football I think this is when it should start every year not just this one.

Numbers at WC and Glencliff are sad. Not so long ago both played in state championship finals. What are numbers looking like for both schools?

TSSAA article about fall 2020 football unknown. If they have no idea why are schools and systems allowed or even trying to start back? What is the hurry? If you have seen the guidelines to be followed according to National Federation guidelines it will be almost impossible to get anything done. I know there are some that think workouts should be happening under normal circumstances. Schools are not even open yet and may not be for awhile. I want sports back as much as anyone. Just hope this does not backfire. Go to NFHS.org and read the 16 pages of guidelines to begin workouts for each sport.
