i apologize for my statement earlier. jtbase i did not mean to ruffle your feathers. i hope you accept my apology. i thought the board was to express your opinion in a good way. i will not post anymore, just read what you all have to say.

I have been looking at this post every since it came out. I just got to say, last year the best players were not chosen for this showcase. I could name the players but I will not do that. I hope I have not hurt anyones feelings but i felt this had to be said. I am not trying to disencourage anyone from trying out, but just be prepared you may not make it.

I will have to say Ahmir Watkins is the best. I looked at the Blackmans web site and his stats are awesome. He had 51 hits out of 104 at bats for an avg. of .490. 24 rbi's as a leadoff hitter, .721 slug. percentage, .555 OBP, only struck out 5 times, and 42 stolen bases. He also led the team in doubles and triples.

My vote for coach of the year goes to Mack Hawks. Who do you think will get player of the year. Most of the time it will go to the champ of the district. If I am correct it was tri champs.

I will have to take my hat off to Buddy Powers. This was a great tournament. Not only were the games good, but their were several scouts at the games. It was great exposure for the players. Murfreesboro is a hotbed for baseball talent. Great job to Buddy and the players and others involved.

Downtown24 and Gomab. I saw Ahmir Watkins play in the warrior classic. He is one heck of a leadoff hiter. This kid can play.

I think the all state teams should be changed. I think they should have A, AA,and AAA all state teams. And they should have ten players to make first team. Why not?

I have been to several high school games in Murfreesboro. I have seen several scouts. Who are some of the players they are looking at.

I think coach Insell took it easy on MJ's young team. I think it could have been a big blowout, I mean big. MJ, I think will be the team to beat in a couple of years.

From watching her play, I think she will be a good player one day. I think she needs to be more aggressive.
