I think the rule changes are great. To many coaches want to monopoliize the players time in their sport of interest only. If a player is invloved in 2 or 3 sports as most are this becomes a tug of war that only the kid is a loser in. Usually the coach with the most power wins thus causing the kid to quit all other sports. Further kids do deserve some sort of summer and I'm not sure that the existing 2 weeks meet this. I think the new rules will help the kids that play multi sports and reduce burnout for the ones who don't. The ones who really want to play at the next level will be playing AAU anyway. Indian when yours isnt playing school ball does she play AAU? How much more time does she really need to have a ball in her hand?

I'm an outsider with no background knowledge of the situation with RBS and JC. However when someone states that a player left one school for another so that she could be in a better program or have a chance for a gold ball a few questions come to mind. However when the player left a program that went 31-4 last year and beat the supposed better program all 3 times they played the previous season, something or many things make no sense. She left the team she was on which beat the team she transferred to 3 times and she went to the new school to get better coaching!!! Someone explain that logic to me!! And exactly why would a community like RBS want to hold back players and a team as has been stated here several times???

And you don't think the TSSAA is about money? LOL. By the way when was the last time you walked into a free High School game? Its all about money at some level.

AAU is a heckuva rec league! Virtually all college players have one thing in common they all played AAU basketball. Tell you what you put together your best team of non AAU players in your area, send them to just a mid level AAU tourney, I bet your rec team looses by 20 + in every game. You are right there are AAU organizations that have money as major incentive but the majority are playing to provide the opportunity to improve their players bball skills.

This was My understanding also from the TSSAA. Its going to be interesting to uphold a rule that no one understands clearly. Think the TSSAA better clarify!

Nice post Rob! My opinion is that if Nike ( or name your brand) or any big sponsors are not getting anything out of it they would not be doing it. I think this is why some of the grassroot programs are falling apart, and thats sad because its the the grassroots programs that are helping the players and not themselves. Would not mind a little of their money to help some of the less fortunate players who really can and just want to play, everyone cannot be a D-1 prospect but they still deserve the chance to improve.

Anybody check the dead horse your beating to see if it was a knee or a calf injury, oh maybe thats what the ref was worried about.

Sequatchie is the only 6AA that will win 5AA will take the other games. 5AA has much more competition within the district with 3 very good teams that will be more ready for tough games due to these battles. Sequatchie does have a chance of making the region championship but will not win. Seq after the 1st game will not have to worry about justifying a 50 point win like it did in many of its district games.

WV as you know had a key member of the team suspend for the game. I believe these 2 teams could play 10 times and go 5 and 5. As far as BC playing CHS, unless CHS has 2 key players suspended BC does'nt have a chance although the fact that CHS has whooped them twice may help BC keep within 10. I will state unless Tucker learns to use more players, that next year will be very difficult for WV when they play either BC or CHS, as WV loosee 3 seniors from this group. BC did show WV unless they have more depth they don't have a chance.

If they truely were pressing 5 on 4 with 45 secs left regardless of the external situations the coach should be gone! Under the circumstances that surrounded the North team some well meaning school adminstrator should have taken a stick to the coach while they were still on the bench. Did any of the SG players tell the coach it was wrong? Hopefully some of them had enough character to speak up.

We will praying for the yound lady and her family and freinds. Was SG still pressing with only 4 North players on the floor? If so there is no defense for anyone on the SG teams, even kids would no better in that situation>

Based on what I've seen it would be Glory of Webb and Simpson of Cleveland High school, hard to predict with Glory since she has not signed.

Reason, I see nothing in this post negative about WV. In fact the only mention of any problem is in your own post, must be an issue your really senitive too, to make you see any problems with any post here.

If she was running up the score then when someone does it to her she will just have to live with it, and someone will run up the score! Its hard to imagine not being able to not be ahead 47-2 or 70-something to 6. When did she quit pressing? Did she work on different defenses? Run multi passes before shots and etc. Our coach has played all 16 players 3 times already in the first half of games we were ahead by 20 -30 points, not sure why a coach would still be with a base 8 players against a really weak team with a 40 plus point lead. And like all teams at this time of year everyone is getting ready for the start of tough games, in fact we already had a big district game. Are you sure it was not running up the score and stats.

I have seen Seq. play several times since summer and I would have to say that they have 2 real prospects. Have also seen Heritage play and while they are not a power I believe that their press and pressure will beat Seq.

Wow, 2A are you always that stupid? Think of all the very good to great coaches in college that have not won a title, or perhaps have not won one in 20 years. Are those previous great coaches just now good on the years that they don't win the title? Further lets take Bruce Pearl for instances is he less of a coach than the TN state A championship coach, Bruce has not won a championship but that single A coach has which one is better? By your def you pick Mr. Single A coach who maybe good but he is not competeing against other D-1 college coaches. I think you have to look at the coaches situation (feeders, program, talent) and determine what kind of job he or she has done relative to their situation.
