  1. Lady Irish prevail 25-21, 25-20, 19-25, 25-16 real good opening match for both teams
  2. Very sad indeed... But if a titan has a hang nail or oh my another DUI then that gets plenty of coverage. SAD SAD SAD Gannett news is a joke
  3. One or two people are making so called big money to coach/ run clubs but the coaches make a small sum to do this. It's not money you could live on with one notable exception... SO, I guess you have a free clinic somewhere you wish to promote? Let us know when and where... I can get at least 8 club coaches to help you.
  4. Ok my last comments on this. I'm sorry but you're not being vague or critical, you are whining! The TSSAA only attempts to level the playing field for schools not for players. The best get to play: period! Brentwood HS had nothing to do with any club being formed; in fact I think only one player from Brentwood played for Impact in 2009 club season. (and I most assuredly have no dog in this fight) As to the "high salaries" for club coaches, sorry, they get paid but it's not enough to live on; all do it for the love of the game and most for the young ladies they coach. If this is about your daughter making the Page high school team, I would tell you the same thing that the dance team or the band or the cheerleaders or the football coaches tell those students... GET BETTER, no matter what it takes!!! Last but certainly not least, the high school or club season in Middle Tennessee in no way comes close to the work required by college athletes... not even close. Please get the facts straight. There are plenty of posters with the knowledge and credibility to help you on this... good luck to your daughter. Peace
  5. Good for them... Congrats to CHOO CHOO
  6. 22nd overall... vb is correct a great group of girls, players and coaches... they will be back next year!!!
  7. Spek On behalf of the Nashville One family you are welcome. I am sure you guys would return the favor! Maybe we can meet in the finals in Miami!!!I am glad your coach and Ann got this together. It is events like this, and Impact's 15's scrimmaging our Nashville One 16's that can only add good vibes AND good will for the whole state. We want to beat ya but when it's over we're gonna shake hands and buy lunch!! Keeping it about the girls is the only thing that matters. When you get your 2010 club schedule together give us a ring. I know many of our parents would love a trip to the Bluff city with a side order of Tunica!!! PS The flyin hawaiin is a special player!
  8. Local teams at MEQ This first weekend was for 16-18 year olds only Nashville One 18's 21st in Open 17's lost n Silver Semi's (club) 16's 9th in OPEN Really a great showing the newbies Impact 31st 18 open not sure how the Impact 17's or 18-2's did
  9. Next big Open field will be February 7-8 same place
  10. Twas a good weekend, parking will always be an issue as this faciltiy gets a ton of traffice, hockey, brithday parties, laser tag etc... The few notes I have on results... A-5 beat Impact in 18 finals n three (Impact beat Nashville One in Semi's A-5 Beat Smoky Mtn Jrs in other) Hear that A-5 17-1 and A-5 17-2 played in 17 finals... Hear that Impact 15's lost in 16 finals not sure to whom... Nashville One 15's lost in three in Finals to Smoky Mtn Jrs PH that N-1 16's team looked pretty good top me eh??? all in all a good tournament, wish they'd used two courts in the 5 team pools; 18 finals ended at 1030pm!!!
  11. The 18's should be a JIHAD let the fun begin with all these girls it will be a fun weekend followed up on the 7th and 8th of feb for more of the same... plenty of college coaches around this[/ weekend!
  12. Curious about Natre Dame and Knoxville Catholic? Anyword...
  13. Are you serious... what a line of KRAP
  14. A leader of young men AND young women ...Welcome back John!!
  15. Hailey Wiggins- Trevecca I believe the Swindell girl is going to MS State? Also the Chattanooga Teams have a Tennessee-Georgia match that may keep some of the Chatt girls from wanting to participate in another event. For middle T this age group has always been a little thin compared to other years. We used to get more girls from Memphis, but this may be a down year for them in respect to Seniors. I agree I wish some DB girls had come ... maybe travel issues don't know. It will be a fun weekend for the ones chosen who agreed to come. See you Saturday at Centennial.
  16. I am expecting a roster from the head organizer later today and will post for each classification. Some I do know are: Jessica Williamson DeeDee Harrison Becca Brewster Marie Mullins Adair Hewett Gretchen Higdon Stephanie Harville Jessica Lane Mindy Stone Elaine Peigon Tell everyone you know about this great event. It is at a much better time than in past years and won't go on til midnight like a few years have! Let's pack the house for the great players!!
  17. We is probably everyone who is tired of your uninformed and biased rants... Some of what you post is true but your opinions are irrelevant in this forum... Father Ryan is simply doing their due diligence in this matter and not rushing to judgement. Attempting to hire a new AD AND a Girls Basketball coach slows down the process. Obviously the new Ad was brought in to the decision making process as he should be. Ryan got a ton of applicants I hear, but like any other school they also have hiring parameters; ie must be on the faculty, prefer a Catholic etc. etc etc. To say that the search committee is made up of a bunch of players parents is absolutely false. (There are NONE) To say that Father Ryan is uninterested in Girls athletics is absolutely FALSE. To say that Ryan can throw big money at ANYTHING is absolutely FALSE> And who, pray tell is Fred Flinstone I can assure you that the entire Ryan administration is fully committed to hiring the very best candidate, but that hire will not assuage you angst against the school...so sit back relax and occasionally spin something positive... and PLEASE get informed before you blast people. Ryan will have an outstanding girls basketball coach and the ship will be on course...remember this is about the girls! By the way they did cancel the camp which was indeed very late and unfortunate; FYI the camp people were paid the entry fees plus some money for referees. If you would like to contact me directly you may do so @ bnasupply@aol.com
  18. You are correct, Lauren did make the sweet sixteen in 2005.
  19. KUDOS to MTSU players and also their coaching staff. For Matt to have taken this program to this level in less than 4 years is simply miraculous. Congrats Matt, Jeff and Amy. PS We have known a local player who made the sweet sixteen as a sophmore at Tennessee (Ann Mullins)...I'm sure she's glad to have the company!!! GO BLUE RAIDERS!!!
  20. I know this is a college story but so many of the Lipscomb team is from Nashville I thought I'd post it. Way to go Lady BISON Lipscomb University won the Atlantic Sun tournament this weekend at Mercer by sweeping through Mercer in 3, Belmont in 5 and the finals against Jacksonville U in a 3 game sweep!! By winning the tournament the Lady Bisons qualified for their first ever NCAA Tournament berth. The brackets will be announced Sunday @ 7:00pm on ESPNU. Tennessee players on the Lipscomb team are: Alex Scruggs Boyd Buchanan (Chattanooga) Grace Gilmore BGA Jessica Turner Brentwood Ashley Cox Brentwood Kaley Mohr Brentwood Ann Mullins Father Ryan Great article on ESPN.com about these girls and their team. Good Luck Ladies!!!
  21. Congratulations to the Tennessean All- Midstate Volleyball team!!! Kayla Arnold Kaycee Green Becca Brewster Marie Mullins Nicole Smith Alison Woods Ellen Mullins Amazing that the first team was an IMPACT VB Club sweep!!!! Also 9 of 16 on the 2nd and 3rd teams play or have played for Impact. Conmgratulations to all 21 players on making this prestigous team.
