  1. calls are part of the game sorry... the tourney set up never changed. period end of sentence. It was in the brochure I received on Friday when I got there. Good luck the rest of the year. You really do have a great team.
  2. Thanks PH for the kind words about the event. As anyone who has ever hosted even a 4 team play date knows these events require an extraordinary amount of work.. cooking, cleaning, line judging you know the drill. What makes the Irish event proud is the number of nice comments made to the parents about the campus and general friendliness of the workers. That is very important to the Ryan coaching staff. The play was really outstanding and many matches went to three games (the 3rd games were played to 25). Hats off to all of these players. it WAS great to see so many of these kids from opposing teams hugging each other then squarring off during the match. Observations: Greenbrier is the real deal and could have easily won this event. They missed Katie for sure but stepped up and lost a heartbreaker in the brackets. Ravenwood- the team nobody wants to play!! Just a matter of time before their youthfulness becomes experience then watch out. Independence- gutty, tough, never out of a point... played with 7 players most of Saturday Ryan- great Ball control, great setting, then BAM their outsides just pound it down or hit a line shot to win a point. They rise to the occasion. siegel-the overcomes adversity team. Played lights out Friday night, beat a good Briarcrest team Saturday in quarters and got overpowered by the Irish. Hats off to the kids for sticking it out and playing well. Wilson Central gets the all-scrappy award. They were in every match they played. Thanks for coming!!! Nice article in the tennessean Sunday. Thanks again to all for your participation. You'll see some of these guys again in the 'boro next month!!

  4. ooltewah vs GPS in the finals.... ooltewah in 3 (assuming best of 3)
  5. See my latest post. We have an opening next week. You are right, don't let these teams back in next year. A team that drops before the season is one thing but a week before the tournament is BAD BUSINESS!!!! Can you say blackball!!!
  6. The Father Ryan Invitaional has a super strong field this year for the invitational to be held September 21 & 22. The Teams (schedule to follow week of the tourney) GREENBRIER DAVID LIPSCOMB INDEPENDENCE BRIARCREST siegel RAVENWOOD ST BENEDICT (MEMPHIS) HILLSBORO BAYLOR FATHER RYAN
  7. I liked the article however I wish they would do a team capsule instead of having a pre-season article devoted entirely to a player who has yet to play a game i high school. Granted she will be a great one and I believe the best ever in the state but let's put out some preseaon info first!!!
  8. Marie Mullins, volleyball, Father Ryan, Nashville, has committed to Austin Peay for the 2008 season.
  9. it WAS a great weekend at Belmont... official attendance for the Belmont -Lipscomb game was over 1100. Interesting that UT had 800+ at Stokley and it was the third largest crowd ever there, so the A-Sun crowd was awesome. I agree, this is a good forum for this as there are so many local volleyball players and coaches that participate. Good job.
  10. Also Cookeville, Father Ryan, Brentwood
