  1. St. Agnes 2 - BGA 0 St. Agnes is the real deal. They wore a very good BGA team down. All of the people who said St. Agnes was overrated and didn't deserve their #1 ranking all season need to appologize. H20 Dog, I looked for you and was told you didn't make the trip. I was hoping to meet you. BGA didn't back down or give up, and should be proud of their team.
  2. USJ played CAK close, especially in the first half. In the second half, they didn't seem to have many (if any) shots on goals. CAK was just too much for them.
  3. CAK 3 - USJ 0 St. A 2 - BGA 0
  4. Notre Dame, you played an awesome season! You played a very hard early schedule that prepared you for the tournament. For two years in a road, you have made it to the semi-finals! What an awesome achievement. A few stats: Senior Jamie Cooper was the leading scorer with 17 of our 83 regular season goals (one of blow-out games on Euro is intentionally underreported). Sophomore Kris Cambron is second with 16 goals, Freshman Carey Lieper 3rd with 12, and Sophomore Darcey Brannen 4th with 11 goals. At least 10 other girls scored during the season. Over 60% of the scores came from underclassmen! The defense was great, with 17 shut-outs, and only 9 goals allowed in 23 games. We're loosing 6 seniors, 4 of whom normally started. There will be some big shoes to fill, and the those remaining will have to step up, but with 22 JV players waiting in the wings, plus a new crop of freshmen next year, don't look for it to be a down year or rebuilding year for Notre Dame next year. We'll be back!!!
  5. Another Great soccer game. Julie Thompson for CAK scored 10 minutes in on a quick put-back after a shot wasn't cleared well. Notre Dame came back and scored on a beautiful cross that was headed into the goal by Kris Cambron with an assist by Casey Gorman in the 27th minute. In the second half, CAK went up again on a goal by Laura Novikoff, and fought to hold on to their win. With less than 2 minutes in regulation remaining, Carey Leiper tied it up for Notre Dame on an assist from Kris Cambron. In OT, Brittany Hoffman scored the go-ahead goal, and CAK held on for a win. TSSAA shows 37 total fouls, 21 for ND and 16 for CAK. Notre Dame had 4 yellow cards (versus 2 given for the entire year). Shots has 21 for ND and 15 for CAK Congratulations to CAK. I hope you win it all on Saturday. Big G, it was nice to meet you. You too Coniglio. Here's the article on www.Chattanoogan.com http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_95984.asp I was told that WDEF (Channel 12 in Chattanooga) had film footage of the game at 6:00, so anybody in Chattanooga might want to see what they have at 11:00
  6. I hope I'm wrong. With Baylor's goalie out, I think that will make the difference against St. A.
  7. As a ND fan, I felt the call was correct. The ND player had beaten the FRA defender, and was about to take a shot on goal. I more neutral observer might have seen it otherwise, but I doubt it.
  8. It should be a great game. I know that early in the season doesn't necessarily count, but comparing the records, they have two common opponents -- Maryville and Sweetwater. Both teams beat Maryville 2-0. CAK played Sweetwater 1st game of the season, and tied them 2-2. ND also played Sweetwater early, beating them 5-1, and played them in the post-season, and beat them 3-0. Notre Dame has played the tougher schedule, both in the regular season and in post-season. Using the current Eurosport rankings, the've beaten #2 (FRA) twice, #5 (Sweetwater) twice, # 6 CCS (twice), and #9 (Grace) once. CAK has beaten #5 (Sweetwater) once, and #11 (Jackson Christian) once. Should be a great game. Hope the turnout is close to the number of people who attended the ND/FRA game.
  9. I'm going to say St. Agnes vs. Baylor in the final, and St. A wins 1-0 in 2OT
  10. Yes I will. I looked for you at the CAK/JC game, and was told you were coming down for tomorrow's game.
  11. Article from www.Chattanoogan.com http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_95866.asp
  12. Wow, what a game!! Notre Dame wins 2-1 in overtime, but it could have gone either way. In the first half, I would say that FRA had the advantage, both with time of possession and shots on goal. With only a few minutes in the first half, though, Darcy Brannen scores on a perfectly placed shot with an assist by Kris Cambron. Within 2 minutes, however, FRA answers with a goal to tie it up heading into the half. In the second half, the momentum seemed to shift to ND. They had many shots on goal, but were unable to convert. Regulation time expired. In OT, FRA fouled within the box, and ND got to take the PK. Jaimee Cooper took the shot, and scored. FRA tried to come back, but was unable to find the net. Final, ND 2- FRA 1 Weather was bad but not terrible. It had rained the night before, so the fields were soft. Throughout the game, though, it would start and stop raining. Most of the time it was just light rain, though at times it picked up. Fortunately, it wasn't too cool for either the players or the fans. Both schools brought a bunch of fans, including students. I would say that ND had over 300 students, plus parents, and FRA had almost as many. I well played game on both sides. No cards for either team. Congratulations to FRA on a great year, and good luck to Notre Dame in the Semi-finals.
  13. I can't speak to whether she will play or not, but I was at the game, and the word in the stands was that she had broken a rib.
  14. Big G, what are the results through sectionals?
  15. My predictions: Sectionals FRA ND Madison CAK USJ Spring Hill Sweetwater Knox Catholic Quarters: ND CAK USJ SW Semi: ND USJ Winner - ND Points: 25
  16. Livingston Academy at Notre Dame at 3:00 pm
  17. For the privates that don't offer financial aid, it seems like they all end up in A/AA for soccer. Are there any private schools in AAA? Does anybody know what the magic number is enrollment wise to go from A/AA to AAA? With the multiplier (1.8 I believe), what is the magic number for a private school?
  18. Baylor 2 - GPS 1 in OT
  19. re-match tonight (10/25) at 7:00 at GPS. Since both teams are already advancing to State, it will be interesting to see how this one turns out.
  20. I point of clarification after we get past regions. Are you limited to those teams you picked to win the regional semi-finals, or can you go back to the drawing board for the rest of your picks. In other words, if somebody picked CCS to win their 1st game, do you still have them, or can you now pick up sweetwater?
  21. If Notre Dame does go all the way, they will deserve the title, having to beat the top teams in the state (FRA and CAK)
  22. if i am reading the scores right, I see 11 of the 16 games results posted. I'm 9 out of 11 so far, picking the CCS upset, but not picking the Fairview upset or the Elizabethton win.
  23. Region 5 had perhaps the most depth. Not only #2 FRA and #10 DCA, but #6 David Lipscomb and #9 CPA didn't even make it out of districts.
  24. @##@#! I had to earn a living and couldn't post. Not too late My picks: Semi's- FRA DCA SW ND Cath CAK USJ JC SH CA LIV St Camp Eliz CD Finals FRA ND MAD CAK USJ CA St Camp CD
