  3. Ok what do you expect them to do, say we are no good, we have no chance of winning, and not even go to Jamestown on Friday night since we have no chance in you know where of winning. Now, does that make you feel better. POOR OWLS, WE DON'T STAND A CHANCE, might as well forfiet NAH, GO OWLS - KICK SOME LIZARD TAIL /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. Where have all the little dragons gone? To bed? Or are they tired of repeating the same ole stuff. Hey queenie I remember that about the enoch, no body wanted to tackle him after that or even be around him.
  5. I should be ready by 4:30 or 5:00. Are you going to wait on me or am I going to have to go it alone. If you guys are leaving before are you going to eat in cookie town if so I may can catch you there and eat too. Son may go with me if you can't wait, but I will know for sure tomorrow. Hey are we having fried lizard legs and steaks at your house tomorrow night. I might want to come.
  6. Oh my bad, I meant to say after they knock the poop out of the dragons on every play. GO OWLS! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. You are exactly right we pull for one another (all of those who aren't tunnel visioned) except one time a year and that is in all sports. I wish the TIGERS best of luck this friday, give it to them. I hope everyone stays injury free and keeps on playing all the way to the boro. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  8. I don't see that happening, especially if the Owls poop on the dragons on every play. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. How correct you are: 1. Line down 2. Hit hard 3. Know your assignment 4. Tackle well 5. Throw the ball 6. Catch the ball 7. Run the ball 8. Get first downs 9. Play Smash Mouth 10. Score 11. Score 12. Score Yeah, thats all twelve of them
  10. So that means since the county pays the utilities on the gordonsville jungle does that belong to SCHS too, can they go over there anytime they want and practice. I don't think so, if it truly belonged to the county as a whole then why doesn't the county pay the note on it. The land it is built on is for SCHS just as your field and new school is on land the county owns for Gordonsville High. There are no tax dollars going to the IPF, but I do think it was a kind gesture for the Owls to let the Tigers get in a good practice in it since it was raining cats and dogs today. Too bad they couldn't have practice together that would have done both good going into Friday night.
  11. that is about the funniest thing I have ever heard on the "T", sorry nice try though
  12. NOW GO GET IT!! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. I didn't make the trip the first time, but since this one is soooooo big I will be making the trip if queenie will wait on me. I expect the OWLS to bring their A game and show them how we play ball here is Smith County. Forget about all else concentrate on the task at hand, put together a complete game, everyone do their job and come away with the win. GO BIG OWLS!!!!!
  14. This was about the Boyd/Smith game has nothing to do with Westmoreland, so why is anyone even giving him the time of day, his team lost he has nothing better to do than bash the teams who beat him, ignore him. Boyd you are a classy act and a great program. Good Luck OWLS in round 2!
  15. Sorry about that I just call it like I see it and anybody who knows me will tell you that. Over here everybody pulls their weight, no matter what club. Just like the new practice arena, you can bet the boosters are working hard to raise money so they don't have that note sitting too long. I still have a problem with people b**ching and moaning about our new stuff, helmets, uniforms, tennis shoes, jersey's, field house, etc. when if it bothers them soooo much - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, why can't they make a donation just to the football team? I work in a business who heavily supports both schools in their sports, and the only thing I see from Gordonsville is the football program, the cheerleader's calendar (which by the way I don't have yet this year) and the annual. What about signs around the field, what about basketball programs, stuff like that. I would be jumping up and down on all the sports to carry their own weight. What do they do with the money the school gets for sports not included in the booster clubs?
  16. I bet you will have the same turn out for this booster meeting as any in the past, because no one wants to raise money for their child and then have to worry if someone else got it all. I say the more people raise cane about there being only one booster club then something will change, what if no one raised money, then what would they do? I say there is volume in numbers and if say thirty football parents went to the principal and said, "hey we ain't raising another dime, if it doesn't go into a quarterback booster club," then I bet he listens. If not, don't stay there, you have got to do something to get the attention. Basketball should be able to raise their own money, who do you need to carry on your backs? Keep fighting. I want to say I am very proud of all the parents we have here that work soooooo hard to raise money every year. That is what makes it possible for EVERY CHILD to be able to play, they don't have to worry about if they got enough money to buy what they need, it will be furnished, and you know every year the new club officer's start with a large amount of money, and that gives the incentive to work hard.
  17. I have been involved with the SC high school sports programs for about nine years now, a daughter who played softball and basketball, and a son who played football and basketball. Not one time was I ask to pay for shoes, practice clothes, warm ups or anything and they got all new ones each year (football or basketball). That was all made possible by the booster clubs. Football, basketball, band, baseball and softball all have separate booster clubs and you should have the same over there. You can't believe the parents who work their bottoms off selling ads, selling banners and doing what ever is needed to make money for their children. That is why we have such great stuff over here concerning our programs. I can't understand why a coach or principal wouldn't want money being handed to them to buy supplies for the children so that they didn't have to spend it out of their school funds. They could then use that money for new uniforms, weights, or whatever they wanted. Maybe if they had every one leave who played a sport and come on across the river, they would wake up. Maybe you should check into what the money is spent for, does basketball get new uniforms, shoes, etc..... which is the principals favorite sport, which does his kids play? But I do know you can't have one or two to do it, it take a huge effort of all the parents, but I know I wouldn't want to work my bottom off for my daughter who played basketball to raise money for the boosters just to have it all go to football whose parents didn't do as much. If it all is in one program, that is how I would feel. That is why I think it should be separated, I believe you would have a larger turn out and each program would have money for that program. And if they didn't raise it tough. That is just my opinion. But I will say it upsets me to hear someone from gordonsville talk about the stuff we have since we as parents make that possible, my reply to that is you could have it too, if you work for it. But now that I know the situation, it ain't fair.
  18. "the offense is ferris. no one else does anythin except get her the ball. take her out show's over. dont get me wrong i think she is a great player but other ppl r gonna have to score if they plan on winnin anythin. shannon is movin schools. i'm not gonna get into details but it wasnt pretty. good luck to smith county from here on out. i guess i gotta say go RBS. haha." This was posted on another thread by sleep23. I know for a fact Shannon has never been told not to shoot. I would hate for this all to have come from worrying who was gonna be the star, night in night out. Not sure what the reason was she left, and really don't care, just hate it for Shannon. I believe if a player isn't playing to their ability then they shouldn't be in the game, let someone who is on and focused be in there until up recover and get it all together. Shannon has a pretty shot and when she is on she will light it up, and her defense is awesome, but everyone has an off night, and maybe Shannon hadn't gotten lit up yet and got fustrated with herself. With that I think you should stop and think before you jump to conclusions and do something in the heat of the moment. I would have like to seen Shannon wait till morning light to see if she still felt the way she did that night, or if when she really thought about it she calmed down. And every parent loves their child and believes they are the best, even though we love our children it is our place to praise them and tell them by morning light it will be different or wait until we calm down to talk to the coaches. I know I would fight a circle saw for my children, but there is always a time and place for everything. I know I have wanted to tear a head off over mine myself. I really hate this for Shannon, because whether or not Ferris ever becomes a great ballplayer she is 6'8 and will bring alot of recruiters to Smith County, more than have been there in many years. Shannon could have gotten several good offers from Colleges other than small ones to play ball maybe even a DI school if she continued to progress. I just hope this didn't hurt her in the long run. Good Luck in RBS Good Luck Owlettes this season, play hard, play together.
  19. LET'S GO OWLS!! PLAY GO BALL AND PLAY SMART!
  20. First I want to congratulate the OWLS on a wonderful game. You guys keep working together and focus on the next game at hand. GO BIG OWLS!!!! Now, how about our region, we may beat on each other week in and week out, but we leave with respect. I am proud for my son to witness this as a player. Other than a few mishaps this year, we are a tight crew and now I know all of Region 4 3A will join us in the hole for other tough fight. I want to say good season to all the seniors in this region, hold you heads high and walk tall, each of you have had something to always be proud of, and thanks for making this final year together so enjoyable. I will miss all of you, even the bad boys from Portland. I hope all of you have a wonderful life and may god bless all the boys of Region 4 3A. GO BIG OWLS!!!!!! PLAY HARD - WIN BIG!!!
  21. The clock is ticking, and the time is near, should be the battle of the year!!! Owls Get Strapped up tight and ready to rumble. I believe in you and know when you step on that field you will give it your all, and that is just what you should do. Each and everyone of you need to remember one thing, it is for YOU!! All the hard practices, the sore muscles, and the bumps and bruises, here is where it gets you and if you keep playing as a TEAM, you will be VICTORIOUS!!! PLAY HARD - WIN BIG!! GO BIG OWLS!!
  22. Way to Go, purplegoldfan!! That is just what I have been trying to say. All of us in Region 4 3A should be proud of each of our teams. And we need to praise our boys for the effort they put forward each and every week, Win or Lose.
  23. LETS GO OWLS!! Keep on playing hard, and lets keep working the kinks out and now play Owl football on all aspects Go Big Owls
  24. I hope you are finished. I don't understand how you can say the things you have said. I was at that game and was at all the other SC and P-Town games in years past. Why would you try and take something away from all the great teams in this region by blaming the loss on the refs, if sc got home cooking believe me it would be the first time ever. We don't get calls in any sport! Like I said earlier, don't shame this great region with stuff like that. P-Town had opportunities and missed, if they had completed their attempts and the score was say 21 to 6 how would you feel. I bet differently. No one likes to lose, heck I am also a sore loser any body who likes to lose is not a true sports freak, but I still believe in giving credit where credit due and this time it goes to SC and the big D they laid down tonight. The last call didn't make this game it was a game all 4 quarters.
