  1. Batman, I have always respected the TSWA list over the Coach's list and I don't think there is any argument which list is biased. And I don't think Hayworth was ALL STATE material. But I do think Cory Hall was. As for the 2 Maryville linemen? I only saw one game so I can't comment. Mathers and Young are given for RB but it is rather incredible that CS did not make it. IMOP his skill set only came to maturity this season. He was twice the RB he was in years past. And was ALL STATE in each of those years.
  2. I am not in conflict with the TSWA's choices. It's just sad that we have zero qualifiers. It's been a long time since we had nothing.
  3. I won't highjack the thread on behalf of '04 but South has softened the schedule as well. Not too very badly but the point is TSSAA is responsible for this. It was much more fun when we played up to better competition. I'll never be an advocate of cupcaking.
  4. Yes, Cocke county is another Trezevant. And yes their safety. But I don't believe in stepping aside. Some will say it is what it is. And I say that is why it will be what it always has been.
  5. If Maryville had not lost their QB it would have been nasty. Maryville was overall the better team.
  6. Don't think Thugzevant won't get hate mail? Piece of crap. Remind me to dump my garbage in Thugzevant if I ever am stupid enough to breeze by there. Ain't no football played in west TN.
  7. They got no coach and Trezevant is not a team. Just a gang...nothing more.
  8. I tend to agree Tornado but this team is the most disrespectful example of this game and they need to be humiliated. Like I said before...attitude reflect leadership. It is fortunate that no one has been hurt from the lack of officiating control against Thugzevant.
  9. Now I want to hear the Alcoa poster appologize for bad mouthing Greeneville. Barb, you know who he is too.
  10. Ogle just got himself a scholarship. Congratulations on something a long time coming to NET Barb. How these people made it to the party I will never know. I'm eating beef stew and cornbread. Enjoy yourself and make it back home safe. Run it up coach! Oh, by the way...watching it on the 'puter.
  11. Now the announcer is calling Mayfield...Carmichael! What an idiot.
  12. This game needs to be halted now before someone gets hurt. The officials are not attempting to control Trezevants antics.
  13. Trezevant is not in Greeneville's league. Everyone was correct when stating that the game with Maplewood was the state championship. Trezevant is nothing more than a group of wanabe thugs. Can't play with Greenevfille so they will resort to cheapshots. Pitiful.
  14. Yes, Science Hill is loaded. But South is loaded also. I think Volunteer is rather loaded. maybe DB is not loaded but they can compete. And Central has a few athletes. The problem is no one has a coach. Well, except for the 'Toppers. Talent is talent...but it takes a great coach to turn that talent into a jewel. I feel Bristol's coach is one of those great coaches but I don't see them hanging with the Island this year even though they are loaded also. My hat is off to the Islands program as it is top shelf and their girls will benefit from it. When Campbell and Company were in middle school they ruled. Same group that is on the floor at South now with a couple exceptions. The difference? Need I continue. South will be lucky to break even this season. Bottom line? It's all about the coach.
  15. I would say Science Hill is gold ball material this year.
  16. I thought the State Championship game was played last week at Maplehood.
  17. I grew up in the Vier. But I'm a Spread convert. And my "B" offense is the Power I. And I like checking off at the line to go to one to the other. Which takes versatile skill players in order to make it work. The spread is dependent on one quick TB who must see the field. This in order to take pressure off the air game. Not just any TB will do. He has to have change of direction skills and be quick off the line. An understanding of the cutback and the 6 TB techniques. This same TB will set the Power I on fire. Most traditional schooled RB's don't like or understand running out of the Spread. The ones who acclimate to it are given the keys to the kingdom.
  18. From Unicoi County to Carter County County to Johnson County and round the tip to Sullivan County...some of the best scenery in TN.
  19. My understanding is the English Bulldog will play football as a Senior.
