I believe Coach Butler has changed alot since those days. Obviously i didn't know him then but from what i can tell he seems pretty mellow.

Abrigo is a good wrestler i just think he has been a little too sheltered by his parents. He wrestled the 160 from Oakland and reinjured his knee and his mom called Stombaugh a classless wrestler.

Trent Gay(Riverdale) at 152 will make some noise. He came very close to upsetting Abrigo in the region finals. Although Torres(Oakland 103) finished 3rd look for him to make an upset. Casteel got a very good draw the first round so look for him. Gechele(Oakland 130) could also win some matches.

He's right about the mats. I mean you have plenty of wrestlers to load the mats and i'm sure somebody has a truck and a flatbed trailer to haul them.

What position did Wilcox play for Smyrna. I remember playing with him in Smyrna's youth leagues.

we had 11 days in all. Each day we had a different quote we had to memorize and a different team to beat from Blackman to Riverdale. The coach assigned to each station reserved the right to ask any player recite the quote or the team of the day. If the player messed up or did not know the quote the whole group had to do pushups. We would be assigned to a certain team and each team had to rotate from different stations consisting of a footwork station, a curl station and the dreaded obstacle course. after each station was completed we ran 40 yard sprints although i can't remember the exact number. If i forgot anything one of the other guys can fill in hopefully. Also take into consideration that this was done in early spring when it was frigid cold and raining

Any possible coaching additions/losses for Oakland this year?

The physical part wasn't that bad it was the mental part that killed you. But doing over a hundred pushups a day wasn't a walk in the park though.

McGowan is a very good player he just needs to control his attitude on and off the field. Hopefully the possibility that he could have been removed from the team will be a wake up call.

you might be a good wrestler if your mom named you Courtney or Kelly. You would be tough anyway.
