  1. Hope it will be a good injury free game. SC quarterback Taylor Helton's father, Lt. Steve Helton, was the police officer injured in the hit and run accident in Sevierville. Lt. Helton is still in critical condition at UT Medical Center, I hope everyone's prayers are with him and the family.
  2. I still have my letter mans jacket and I graduated in 1969 ( I know I'm older then dirt lol). I can't wear it , it's now too small but I wouldn't sell it for anything. I set a goal to receive the jacket when I was 6 years old and it's one of my most prize possessions . Yeh I know it doesn't mean much to anyone else but to me I can still remember all the hard work and effort that went into to getting it and how proud I was when I received it when I was freshmen in high school , to order it you had to show the certificate proving you had a varsity letter, the day I received it I made my Father take me to order it, I couldn't wait.. I couldn't wait for it to get cold enough to wear It hangs in my closet and every time I see it it brings back wonderful memories.
  3. DZ does it really matter? Of course it matters it means MoWest made it farther then all but 3 other schools in the state 4A. That is an accomplishment. Yes we were embarassed by Maryville (the way we played had alot to do with that) but how many teams have not been embarrased by Maryville? Only those that haven't played them. I am not sure which school you pull for but if it's Maryville congratulations (though normally Maryville fans have more class) if it's someone else you were either embarassed by them also or didn't deserve the oppurtunity to play them. Like everyone else we are trying to reach the same level as Maryville, our goal every year is to win the 4A state. Regardless, we are still very proud of our Trojan players and staff for the dedication, effort, & hard work they expend every year.
  4. I don't know all the details of this situation but my understanding of the eligiblity rule is if you establish eligibilty at a school then transfer to another school without making a physical move you are ineligible for 1 year from last patticipation. TSSAA doesn't care about any of the "local" eligability rules. You can live in Memphis and go to school and play at SHHS. TSSAA only concerns itself when a player transfers after establishing eligablity.
  5. Whewwww, glad to hear that It was bad enough we have to face him in the semi's but at G'ville it would have been the same region
  6. That's correct, TSSAA rule if you change schools after establishing eligibility with out making a physical move you are ineligible for varsity competition for 1 year from last participation.
  7. FBE I have no idea about Knox West but I see Mo West trying to upgrade their schedule and avoid rematches in the playoffs. Knox Catholic will be good for our schedule and Science Hill has been down but hopefully they will rebound. For us "oldtimers" the Science Hill game will take us back to the old Big 7 Conference before the schools split in Morristown. If it was possible I would have our out of region schedule be Jeff Co ( a natural rival) and rotate the other 2 games between Science Hill, DB, & Sevier County. I think this would make our schedule tougher and also reestablish some old Morristown rivalries. About the "turf" I hope we are able to accommidate the Rebels next year (with different results ) We are loosing some very important seniors so we have some juniors & sophmores that will have to step it up. I am sure Coach Woods and the staff will have them ready.
  8. After watching the Rebels Friday night I find it very hard to believe there is a team in this state that can beat them. They may beat themselves but that's the only way it will happen. I haven't seen Hillsboro but anyone who is 14-0 is a very good football team but they will be playing a well coached/Talented/dedicated team I will have to go with 35 to 14 Maryville. Hope everyone has a safe trip and enjoys a good game. Keep it in East Tennessee. (Maryville/Fulton/Alcoa)
  9. MLREB, I was at the game and yes West had no answer for the Rebel offence and it could have been worse then it was, but for FBE to say it was 21-0 before thr turnovers was wrong. I have never said a negative thing about Maryville, they are the class of this state. Unfortunatly for the Trojans they have to get by them to reach the finals. I have read many post by FBE and he is very insightful and I respect that though sometimes he does have trouble if anyone makes a comment that seems say that the Rebels didn't do it all on their own. Of course if the rolls were reversed I can't say I wouldn't be the same way.
  10. I have to disagree with your comment sir, Mo-West had no answer for Maryville on their first drive but to allude that the turnovers had nothing to do with the other scores is wrong. 1. Inteception Rebel drive starts at the 30. 2. Fumble Rebel drive starts at the 20. 3. Interception (great closing speed by Maples) their own 45. All three of these drives were short so to say they had nothing to do with the score is not correct. Would it have made a difference??? From what I saw of the Maryville offence it might have made a difference in the score but not the outcome.
  11. Congrats to thr Rebels on a very well played game. I have a hard time believing anyone on this state will be able to stop you, good luck and bring the gold ball to east tennessee. Thanks to everyone I came in contact with at the game a very classy group of fans, players, & coaches. To the Trojans it's hard to take at this time but you had a great season not many teams in this state finished 13 and 1. Keep your heads up we are proud of you. To the seniors thank you I hope all of you have continued success in whatever your future holds. To the underclassmen.... remember what that felt like friday night... channel that feeling into a positive with harder workouts & dedication to excellence.
  12. Well here we are. Can the Trojans beat the Rebels? Of course they can, any thing is possible, will they beat the Rebels ??? Maryville is Maryville that's all that has to be said about them, the Trojans will have to play as well as they can to win this one, they are playing very well right now so we'll see Friday night. I'll be there cheering for Mo-West. I hope it's an injury free game and everyone has a safe trip. Whichever team wins this one I'll be pulling for at state. Listening to Henry County it doesn't matter both of our SOS is so weak we can't handle them but I guess one of us will try
  13. Mr T. (I assume the T is for Trojans) it is obvious to me that you are not a true Trojan Nation member. We respect our opponents and their fans. If you can not conduct yourself in a more adult manner please find another thread and another team to support we the Trojan Nation are better then that. Cane72 please let me apoligize, you are a cane fan and yes you pull for your team and sometimes I don't agree with you but you are always an adult. I am sorry for the petty childish attacks by the Trojan Nation wanna be.
  14. Didn't say we were. If you'll notice the key word is "IF" we win state. I understand we have to beat Mo-East before any of this matters and the Trojans will have to play their best to do that. To the Maryville & Red Bank posters on this thread please excuse me for replying to Mo-East to Mo-West post on your thread.
  15. I have respect for anyone who plays the game but after the hit you took Friday night and came back to try to play again you have even more respect from me. If the rest of your life you use that same determination & dedication you will be successful at what you do. Don't worry about those who disrespect you the players know the players, and you are a player.
