JB is playing their best ball of the year so now is the time for sure. It's hard for me to say if JB has another level though. If they do, now is the time to show it because with so much on the line I expect to get G'villes best effort. This would be JB's first region title since 2010.

These guys are right...the last two games we've ran the ball better than we have all year. Its been a combination of o-line adjustments and a RB who looks like he's making the most of what time he has left after missing several games. I haven't seen a JB RB run this hard in quite awhile. You have to go back to probably 2010 with Frankie Traughber and Brand Holt. But honestly, towards the end of the game against republic I had some flashbacks to LK they way his pad level was and always falling forward. If we can run the ball like that from here on out we'll be in good shape.

Sounds good. Easiest place to meet is at the end zone closest to the concession stand. Just go to the gate with the “Dungeon” over top of it.

Has SP’s first team defense allowed a point this year?

As many expected, this one is for all the marbles in Region 4! JB has had a lot of injuries and their record suffered because of it but JB has gotten somewhat healthy so I expect JB to give G’ville a run for their money. What do you think???

I'm just now seeing this TALMAD...no excuses from me. I'd say Monterey isn't nearly as bad as you put on though. Monterey hung around, hit a long pass for a TD, recovered the ensuing kickoff and scored again and we had us a ballgame. JB answered to pull back ahead. Monterey made one final push but couldn't complete the pass and the game ended. Monterey was very close to tying the game. Neither team looked very good to me. Gordonsville should win the region again and no team in the region will get past the second round. We already know this though...

Yeah it’s bound to happen at some point and this could definitely be the year.

Shep said he will be there!!! As for the game/JB...we need to see some offensive fire power to go along with our defense. I really think we have one of the better defenses we've had in quite a few years. We just don't seem to have the offensive fire power. We still have some time to develop though. The Cascade game could have easily been 35-0 with all our starters in and few less penalties but it wasn't. That's fine playing against the Cascades of the world but that won't cut it against better competition.

Jo Byrns is coming off a decent performance against Cascade (23-0). Monterey is 0-2 and looks to be struggling. I have the same expectations for JB as I do this week. JB should win pretty easily. Our offense needs to keep improving. Our defense is looking really good.

Yeah even though H2O bottled him up I could tell he’s going to do some serious damage to some of these scrub teams they’ll play. If SC is as bad as people say he may go for 300 Friday lol.

I won't claim to be a 2A expert this year but I know most years there's not a lot of difference between 1A & 2A. If Watertown was in 1A I think they'd be in the championship game this year (barring any injuries). With that said, I've seen them play twice (against smaller competition) and my concern would be what they can do against a more evenly matched team (size and speed). They were just head and shoulders better that Gordonsville and Jo Byrns. We'll find out in a few weeks when they play TC.

That's good to hear! I can't help but remember when this game was the biggest one of the regular season and usually for the Region 5-1A championship. This thread would be 100 pages by the end of the week! Oh well, I'm still looking forward to the game and getting the season underway. Let's go!!!!

It appears to me that Cascade is down again this year so I think JB can roll in this game. I’ve liked what I’ve seen out of our defense so far but I’ve yet to see a score by our first string. I did miss the Houston County scrimmage so I don’t know what they did there. Anyway, we’ve got to find some consistency on offense. This is the game to do it!

Forgot to mention...DTC did an excellent job with the broadcast! I put those guy up against anyone doing broadcasts for high school football. Top notch in my opinion!!!

I watched the game online and Gordonsville had nothing for Watertown. With that said, Watertown is legit this year and could very well compete for the 2A title. If it’s any consolation to Gordonsville, JB didn’t fair any better against Watertown in their scrimmage.
