Call them and ask??? Alcoa is 3A and won about 10 states in a row. TheyBaylor, etc should play them. We are 1A. Still a huge difference in depth. Does your team play Alcoa? We play one of the toughest non-region schedules in TN already

Talked to them too. I think our schedule is a little heavy with good teams with 80 players already. We only have 40 +/- kids.

Polk is still on the schedule as are Boyd and SM and we picked up Seq Co. Lost Grace, Cascade and Central. We need games week 1 (Grundy still has a decision to make), week 9 and week 10. Grace won't play us in football so we are canceling all basketball and baseball games with them. Same will go for Grundy if they won't play us. Having a hard time finding teams to play without long travel involved or teams that are just a big mismatch or scheduling issues. Talked to several teams but their open dates and ours don't match. Even looking in North GA for games. Jr High games are on Thursday nights so that would be tough to do until their season is over

Other people saw your post the same way and asked me about it. You have a habit of posting things without knowing what you are talking about. Sometimes it is better to ask first. He was simply taking snaps as part of the team at the Championship game. He is running in place but hasn't started running yet. He should be ready for baseball season and maybe spring football

The two back spread (horns) has been in for the last couple years. The Power I (3 back, QB under center) was added this year for goal line and short yardage. The only problem with a WingT is is no real Fullback...yet. One may step up. A combo off WingT and gun like 3 and 4 years ago is a possibility as is staying with some form of the spread. Jake will be a good, solid QB. He is smart, athletic and coachable. Jake's was just getting to dress out and be part of the team. Even though he participated in warm-up he was not going to play. He can't even run yet. His rehab is going well but has a long way to go...several months. Why would you even question that his knee was hurt????...he had ACL surgery and was on crutches for several weeks

100% correct there! A 6 yard punt is not what anybody expected after booming them 45 yards in pre-game warm ups. I guess 6 yards is better than a 15 yard loss. I'm sure am glad it wasn't the difference in the game

Our schedule still has some holes to fill.... 3 games to be exact but we did pick up Seq Co. Bledsoe picked up Whitwell rather than play us and Grundy is iffy.

I will agree that Trav's and the offenses performance in the SM game was just about as good and it is hard to judge our performance because offensively SM is head and shoulders above JB and most 1A and 2A (and higher) teams. Both were good games...we just happen to win State with the JB game I love having the problem of needing more space for Championship team pics and gold balls. It's a great problem to have!!!!

My point exactly... we were clicking on ALL cylinders the whole game. Our best and most complete game as a team IMO

Glad to hear he is going to be Ok. I watched the game on the TSSAA site tonight for the first time. I knew we played well but being busy on the sidelines I don't always get to really watch the game. We were clicking on all cylinders... by far our best game of the year. I was really proud of the way Travis handled himself and the team...by far his best game of the season. JB... ya'll just picked a bad week to play us.. I was also proud of the sportsmanship shown by both sides.. kids on both sides helping each other up after knocking each other down and no trash talking that I could see. Two great groups of kids...their parents, coaches and communities have every reason to be proud. They are all winners!

I saw Alcoa up close while they were warming up and watched part of their game ...Coach Price is a vary smart man. The Tornadoes are getting better and better if you can believe that.

I have to take up for my area team on this. The TSSAA set the rules for classifications. SM played in the classification according to those rules. They are 2A State Champs. Quit with the sour grapes already. The 1A State Champs SP Pirates played them to the wire and came about as close as anybody (along with FC and TC) to beating them (and mercy ruled them last year). We are playing them again for the next 2 years even though they are 3A size playing up in 4A. Congratulations to Trinity for making it to the championship game and getting a silver ball but just so you will know the lowly 1A Pirates would have mercy ruled ya'll too as well as FC or TC!!! East TN football is THE BEAST!!!
