After this playoff cycle here is what needs to happen.Split up the Privates and the Publics in all Sports.You are NOT allowed to play Private vs Public at any point in the Regular Season or otherwise.2 State Champions still Private and 4 classes in Public.2 Privates and Class 1A on Friday and 2,3 and 4A on Saturday.Then to truly be fair no matter how bad your school sucks you have to play football there.No going from William Blount or Heritage to play somewhere else or play at Austin East if you live in the South Doyle district.You have to have a legit move in the district in order to play for that school.Not my grandma that we don't care about is dying but we are going to work our way into her will and use her address to go play for this or that school or My Son is endangered so we sent him to live with his Aunt and Uncle.Then at the end of the year we can hear all the Public Champs ###### and moan about how they could have beat the Private Champs but if not have all the excuses ready

Private Schools aren't perfect but when you Public Schools took Jesus out well that was the best recruiting tool there is!!! By the Way there are 2 Private schools still in the State Championship Games.Alcoa and Maryville.There is not a Private School in the State who can recruit any better than those 2 Brentwood Acadamy and Ensworth included.I get tired of reading this garbage.I heard a famous Coach from a small East Tennessee School sit there and cry and tell my friends how this private school and that one recruit and cheat lol yet while he was at Anderson.Co and taking all the good players from Campbell.Co that was ok!!!!

Charlie,Howell and Rusty to CN???

Not sure if it is true or not but word is out that Charlie High & Davis Howell both former CAK stars and State and National Record breakers have both quit their respective College Football Teams.I wonder if they might go to ETSU or after how poorly they were used this year they just got soured on Football.

I live in South Knoxville next to Seymour and Rockford.I am a fan of all teams and like different things about them.I have not been to many games the last few years as my mom had been sick with cancer and I have been helping dad with her as they live nearby.I do own some shirts of different schools including Alcoa but am selective.I am not on the bandwagon at all.I worked with a guy who attended Johnson Bible here who was a Upperman Grad and shocked I knew much about them.And not once did I miss any of the GREAT games they had in the Upperman Bowl including when they had 2 in 1 day a few times.So although I don't go to all the Upperman games I do get The Sunday Cookeville paper in the mail each week and am far a bandwagon fan.I like Trousdale.Co too and could go watch them but am excited to see Upperman!!! I hope I don't get stung

The Basketball Team is doing GREAT without her.Talk about the girls who stuck with the program and are pouring their hearts into the program.Cheyenne has decided not to play which is fine but she doesn't need in her name in the paper every game or any game for that matter for a team she chose NOT to play for.She gets more press than the girls who are on the team and doesn't deserve it.The same thing happened with a kid a few years ago who quit Football to play baseball.

Even though all the public schools hate the privates with a passion I have to give a huge shout out to the CAK family and Coach Rusty Bradley.They collected and donated over $10,000 to the injured football player from Kingston and Rusty went to the mom of the kid and gave it to her.And Kingston wouldn't even play in their benefit game!!!! Hats off to those "evil" recruiters with a heart!!!

I know Wartburg had a Tornado hit years ago before a big Playoff game.This is from Illinois where the town of Washington Illinois got hit hard by a Tornado.The Washington High Panthers are getting ready for a State Semifinal game this Saturday vs Springfield Sacred Heart Griffin.They spent yesterday helping coaches,neighbors,relatives and friends with clearing debris and such and not practicing."In light of Washington tornado distaster, here's what SHG's Ken Leonard told me the Cyclones are doing to help their semifinal opponent: "We've collected several thousand dollars already from our football team and football family. We've got two charter buses going up there to pick up fans because they need transportation. A lot of them don't have transportation. We're feeding those fans before and after the game. We're going to feed the team before the game and after the game, and take care of any needs they may have. The extra money we have leftover, we'll give to Washington High School.Now is another updating I am posting.They had a football-related meeting Monday night at Sacred Heart-Griffin High School. But it wasn’t the SHG coaches going over the game plan for the Class 5A playoff semifinals. Ken Leonard, SHG football coach and athletic director, said a meeting for the Cyclones’ football parents was scheduled. The purpose was to discuss ways to help the Washington High School team and its fans in the wake of a tornado that caused major damage in the Tazewell County community on Sunday. SHG will host Washington in a semifinal game at 1 p.m. Saturday. While many particulars have not been ironed out, Leonard said SHG wants to make Saturday’s experience enjoyable for the Panthers and their fans. It will be six days after their town of 15,000 was devastated. “We’ve talked with (Washington coach Darrell Crouch) and their athletic director (Herb Knoblauch),†Leonard said. “We want to know what we could do as a team and a school to help with what their needs are. “It’s tough. They’re human beings with needs. I have some relatives of mine in Washington, and all of them are safe, so that’s good. But we want to help.†Charter buses Leonard said one clear need for Washington fans is transportation after their vehicles were damaged or became inaccessible because of the storm. He said SHG has secured at least two charter buses to transport Washington fans to the game, and attempts are being made to get more buses. “We’re going to feed their team before the game and afterward,†Leonard said. Leonard said the Washington High School campus dodged the main path of the tornado, but several Washington players and one member of the Panthers’ coaching staff lost their homes. With school not scheduled to reopen until at least Wednesday and access to the town being limited, Leonard said the Panthers probably will practice at a nearby facility, possibly Illinois State University. While Washington’s attempts to rebound from Sunday’s disaster will be a major storyline for Saturday’s game, Leonard said it’s still a football game — and a very important one at that. “One thing they’ve said is, they want to get back to normal,†Leonard said of the Panthers. “They want this to be a football game, and there’s a lot of meaning to this one.
