Game Summary:

Bolivar jumped out to a quick 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter. In the 2nd, Bolivar built a lead that got as high as 18-points (25-7). Raleigh-Egypt finally hit double digits as a team with 1:14 left to go in the FIRST HALF. In the first half, it was simply all about Willie Kemp. He dominated the entire flow of the game and Seay and Miller had no answer for him defensively.

The second half was a different story. Miller and especially Seay came out in the third firing on all cylinders. A barrage of 3-pointers pulled the Pharohs within 4 towards the end of the 3rd quarter. At the end of that quarter, Bolivar's Wayne Chism took over the game. Chism had 2 MONSTER BLOCKS, then followed that up with a dunk that almost brought the house down. That moved the Tigers back in front by 10 as a Miller 3-pointer was waived off at the end of the quarter.

Raleigh-Egypt got the momentum rolling in the fourth with some pressure defense. For some reason, Bolivar kept trying to outlet the ball to Chism and O. Kemp instead of letting Willie Kemp bring it up the floor. Bolivar threw it away about 9 TIMES, that really may not be an exaggeration, and RE actually took a 40-39 lead in the game. Murrell pulled Bolivar back even with a free throw to tie the game at 40. Miller missed a runner, then Kinnard's follow was rebounded by Willie Kemp. He was fouled INTENTIONALLY, although it was never called, and went to the line and drained both shots. Another FT put the Tigers up by a score of 43-40. RE got a decent look for a possible game tying 3-pointer but it was front-ironed and Murrell's free throw made it a 44-40 game, which was the final.

NOTES: Willie Kemp was the Player of the Game (I can't remember his stats exactly) with a double-double. THE OFFICIALS REALLY HAMMERED WAYNE CHISM!!! The kid really took over the game at the end of the 3rd quarter and he made some nice plays in the fourth, but they did not count because the refs got soft. RE was really allowed to play physical, but everytime a player flopped (especially on Chism's rebound and put-back in the 4th) the whistle blew. Chism even started trying to flop when Kinnard would take it hard to the rack late in the game, but did he get a call to go his way??? NO!!! I don't have a problem with that, but if you ain't gonna call ticky-tack stuff on one end of the floor then don't decide to hammer a kid on the other end of the floor. Wayne Chism can not help it that he is 6'9 250lbs.
