AC vs. Oneida

I heard the final score was 3-2 in favor of Oneida... seems like AC gave them more than everyone expected. Whats the scoop?

Oneida has lost a little bit of it's confidence lately. Losses to Catholic, Oak Ridge, and Kingston have kind of had an adverse effect on the team. AC did not get the Indians best game yesterday, yet still got out shot 29 to 5. If we get our defense settled, and finish better in games it will certainly help from a confidence stand point. The defense currently starts two freshman fullbacks and a freshman goalie, so there is a big learning curve to go through. Your Mavs played pretty well yesterday(certainly finished better than Oneida), but the Indians still left with a win. If its by 1 or 2 or 10, a win is a win and Oneida will take all it can get right now!

AC starts a few Freshman as well, and plays a few more. Oneida played the game in front of AC's net, and you have to give big props to the AC keeper. This guy made some outstanding saves.

Many times in this game, the keeper started the attack by throwing the ball past midfield line. He is as good as i've seen at this level.

Oneida didn't finish as well as they could..With outshooting a team 29-5, you would surely expect the team with 29 shots to win by more than one goal..ACs keeper is very talented..He saved their team from an embarassing lost..I hope that Oneida will start to find the back of the net like they should be..Good luck to the Mavs the rest of the year..

I would have to agree that the AC Keeper did a good job keeping things in front of him. He also had a lot to do with AC's ability to counter-attack the Oneida Defense by quickly redistributing the ball to his offensive third. The goalie definitely kept the Mavs in it!

Just a correction, I heard that the Mavs didnt start their freshman keep, but Shane Fox started, hes a senior. He is very talented and he sure helped AC keep it close. Good luck to both teams this year.
