Lost finals to hometown Team Texas, whose C was 6'9" 260, Memphis played without their 2 bigmen, 6'8" and 6'6".

BigYOMCA what tournament was in Dallas. I know the SouthEast Elite and the Travelers went to Houston for the Kingwood Classic, but was unaware of the Dallas tournament.

AFO,

Did SE Elite play in Houston. If so, you haven't posted anything about it. Normally you tell us everything. Does this mean they didn't do well? Y/N.

Sorry NewsAlert, I guess I should post the bad as well as the good. Yeah, the Elite did not win as many as we would have liked (1-2), but played well. There were some really good teams down there. We beat a team from a team from Houston (SC Heat) and then lost to the Crusaders from San Antonia and the Acadiana Hoops from Louisana. Josh Henley (Hunters Lane) and DeMario Williams (Culleoka) played well.

Wow, I am actually very surprised to see SE Elite not win more in Houston... I heard they were completely loaded...

A lot of missed free throws and turnovers. One of our top guards Terrance Landrum from Alabama hurt his ankle in the first game and was out the rest of the tournament. Josh Henley played sick, but was certainly still a factor. Erik Wisdom couldn't nail the 3-point shot there as he did in the Alabama Super-Regional. Judah Akers shot the 3-pointer well the first game and went cold after that. DeMario Williams played very well in the tournament. We plan to rebound this weekend in Lynchburg. Due to rule changes 6'11 Muniru Bawa is not eligible to play in the substate (or state), nor is Landrum because they are from Alabama. Bawa played strong. The refs let the other teams beat him up all game long. It was obvious they were holding him to a much higher standard because of his size. He's had to earn every point he gets in every tournament we've played in.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
