Great Tournament Weekend! Here are the results . . .

#1 Memphis YOMCA Tigers

#2 Tennessee Tigers (Blue)

#3 Knoxville Celtics

#4 Memphis Team YOMCA

#5 Nashville Nets (Blue)

#6 CDF Thrashers

#7/#8 TN Flames and SE Elite Tigers - no game played for this spot

The top six teams qualified for Division I Nationals due to the Memphis Tigers having an automatic bid as they finished #2 in last year's National Tournament. The TN Flames have also qualified through a Super Regional so 7 teams will represent Tennessee in Memphis next month.

What Super Regional did the TN Flames qualify at? Since the Flames had a bid that meant they would take all 8 teams right or is that not how it works?

They are a great team. The players are solid and the coaching unit is one of the best. Everyone on the team knows their role and plays within himself. They are under control on the floor and on the bench. The team is a group of talent gifted athletes that are coached extremely well.

The best thing about this team is that they are top notch when it comes to class. From the time they enter the gym, waiting on their game, preparing for their game, playing their game and then leaving, the team, coaches and even the fans display class like a true champion should.

They have the dynamics to win it all at Nationals. They finished 2nd in the nation last year to T.G. Adidas losing by only 3 in the finals. It is my understanding that they have qualified for the 14U YBOA State as well.

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
