first of all ooltewah is not that dominant. they are as beatable as anyone other than oakridge in the region. yes they have great individual players like marshall, caldwell, gaston, and mcdade. but as  a whole they have weeknesses just like everybody else. their special teams is a little less than average and they are in my assesment of watching 20hrs of tape not that physical  against the run.

    GO TRIBE!!!

First year punter (the QB) has had to punt 4 times in two games totalling 145 yards. He's averaging 36.2 yards per punt with a long of 44.

Soccer player and first year football player Jeremy Williams is 3-3 on FG's. He's kicked FG's of 36, 32, 23 yards. He's also 9 for 9 on PAT's.

Kyler Burke (LB/TE) has been kicking off and he has had 12 kickoffs totalling a whopping 668 yards (avg 56 yds/kick)...and that includes his very first kickoff in 3 years that was about 20 yards. 6 of his 12 kicks have been touchbacks.

The Owls opponents are 0 for 0 on FG's and 4 for 5 on PATs..Owls opponents have a 4.5 yard per punt return average...

So how do you figure their special teams is a little less than average...for a high school team, I think it's a lot better than average!

Those are very impressive stats for special teams.  Are you there stat keeper or just a huge fan?

Nope...well I am a huge fan (a graduate and a sibling of a current player), but I get a copy of the stats each week...you can check them out for yourself at OoltewahFootball.com.

We don't have cumulative stats up yet, but we've got each game.

Go Owls!

SergeantOwl22 - You're stating your opinion (The Owls have a good secondary) and I'm stating a fact (Rhea DID drop at least 10 passes against you guys) and I'm an idiot?!

I never said that Ooltewah didn't wax Rhea.  I never said that Ooltewah won't wax McMinn this week.  I've never said that Ooltewah isn't a great team.  I'm just not impressed with their secondary.  Rhea had guys open all night last week but couldn't catch a cold.  Having four ints don't necessarily make a good secondary.  Just watch UT's.  They get ints, too, but they always stink!

at least is not a fact so get it straight.

we had three drop balls and two of them should have went for touchdowns.

Ok everyone, let's quit bashing people...Central is a good team, and they will ALWAYS play Ooltewah tough...Secondly, if Ooltewah goes up to McMinn all cocky, it could be a bad night....why does everyone have to talk so bad about other people?!!?

Go Owls!

Seems to me you’re the idiot! Rhea knows who the better team was and still could not win with 15 players on offense and defense.

Ok we had four pass interference calls and lets say all of them were legit so what’s the excuse for Rhea and their pets zebras passing 41 times without a hold penalty and Ooltewah a running team had two called on them. Hum the New England Patriots would have to hold at least once on a peewee squad. The game this week is on CSS so I hope the Athens Zebra Clan will slip up and forget it’s on TV so they can make complete idiots of themselves and prove where their roots are really tied. If you don’t believe me take a camera to all the games and review all its contents because I guarantee you this it’s not a witch hunt.

The DB's did a great job too.

2004

PENALTIES-YARDS............... 88-852 64-493

2005

PENALTIES-YARDS............... 20-188 13-84

Total 108-1040 to 77-577 Diff. 31-463 now that’s BIG

The Owls average a 9.63 per infraction to their opponents 7.5

The Owls average drive killing infractions vs. a little over a false start infractions

We get bad calls more at home than at most places does anyone have the answer?

MH should have this stat from the past five years I am sure some of us would like to know why is their so much hatred towards our community and athletics and why cant we just let them play and let the best team win?
