Beware of the Night Birds. B)

They won today too. :thumb:

58-40 over Millington. :(

Bartlett comes from behind and beats White Station: 47-45

Bartlett vs. Smith County tomorrow

I've seen smith county play in this tourney and they look very good. They could beat Bartlett, but it'll be a battle if they do. Bartlett is also a very good team.

I predict that Smith County will win this one. White Station exposed some of Bartlett's defensive weaknesses. Also, unless Bartlett can shoot a much better percentage (estimate they shot about 20% at best from the field against White Station) they might very well lose to a good looking Smith County Team. If Smith County plays a man defense against Bartlett, it could be interesting.

Bartlett beats Smith County by 10 or so. Bartlett led by 2 or 3 at the half. In the 2nd half they started to drive to the basket more and drew a lot of fouls. They're deadly from the charity stripe. Number 12 for Smith County was awsome but couldn't do it alone - Nicky Thompson, Jasmine James, and Ashley Herring were too much.

Collierville loses to Kirby after they had the momentum in the 2nd half.

Bartlett and Byhalia play for the championship. Two years ago in this tournament, both these teams were considered "fish food" for the big fish in the tournament. This year, not through luck, they have earned the right to play for the championship. This game will put the 6-2 guard Ashley Wilson and a cast of athletic defenders for Byhalia against a potent offense in Bartlett's team. If the triple threats of Herring, James, and Thompson all click, it could be a rough night for Byhalia. On the other hand, if Byhalis forces as many turnovers as they did against Central in the semi-finals, Bartlett could suffer its first defeat of the year. It should be a great game.

Good luck to both teams!

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
