I hope they have an award ceremony this year. I've been going to this Tourney since 1978 and it seams that it doesn’t recognize the individual champions any more. I hope that it improves this year.

I couldn't attend this years tournament. Did Halls have an awards ceremony? I know what you mean, though, it seems like more and more tournaments have stopped doing award ceremonies due to lack of time-I assume. Wrestling tournaments take a great amount of time to run, I know, but that should make the awards ceremonies that much more rewarding to fans and wrestlers. I think we should get ole Dan Mitchell from Seymour(still there?) to do awards ceremonies at our tournaments, he's not shy! Hope everyone agrees!

Nope, no award ceremony! you sit there for over 12 hours as a parent and the kids give up a day I think they deserve to get something more than a medal going off the mat.

I liked the way Father Ryan does it.

 

BTW- How in the world is OW figured. I like Frankie Morgan of Union Co but he won his semi by 1 point. Nick Reviez pinned all his victims in the first round under a min! I have never understood how they look at it. I've seen lots of state champions come through the Halls Tourney and never get OW, I wish someone would let us in on the magic formula.

OW should have been either Justin Cash, hit two lateral drops in the finals, or Dean Smith, never went into the 3rd period.

I would have put the 215lb state Champ up for OW. He pinned his first 3, under :30. I guess he made it look to easy.

WHY WOULDN'T YOU PUT THE MOST DOMINATE WRESTLER UP FOR OW?

I think Mr Cash will have plenty of OWs in the next 4 years. He's something else.

Nick Reviez is a excellant candidate! As are alot of the other champions. there were others who pinned all there opponents. I don't think there is a magic formula. But Frankie Morgan was a good choise, his opponent in the finals was 27-0, Justin Cash had some tough compitition @ 119, and he's a Freshman. I guess what I'm getting at is there is alot of ways to look it. But on the other hand I've been to tournments were O.W. wrestler has gone to a wrestler just because he's a state champ! I like to look at what a wrestler has to do to get there, sometimes the person who overcomes great odds to win there bracket, get's ignored because there is a champion in the tourney! :thumb:

BA has another 112 freshman (Gibbs) that is good, so Coach Cash wrestles his son up to 119 or 125 except for the Ryan, State or something like that.

Yes, I see what Coach Cash is doing. His son is vary good, he's challanging his talented wrestler by putting him were the toughest comp :thumb: ition is. Smart Man, I like the way he think's

      Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.

      I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.

      I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!

      Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
