Just looking for some comments and or picks for tonights games in 10A. After the log jam at the top settled should be some great games tonight. Good luck to all. Here are my picks for the record.

Jo Byrns @ NCS = NCS wins in a close one.

McEwen @ WHH = WHH wins but much closer than most think.

Montessori @ East Literature= East Literature wins with just too much talent.

Houston County @ East Robertson = East Robertson wins by 25 if they play their game.

Ok ....taking a chance by making these picks. Now its your turn.

in an unbiased opinion...who do you think has the best shot to win this district??

Man, what a loaded questions....lol. After follwoing this district all season and seeing how it ended up toward the end I honestly have no idea. Its very close talent wise. But since you asked for a pick I will pick East Literature. But having said that, it would not surprise me to see any of the following win this district. WHH , East Robertson or NCS all are capable of winning on any given night against any of the top teams here so just keep an eye open and have fun watching it get played out on the court. But good question iI would be interested in hearing other unbiased opinions as well.

I agree with voldad except I pick McEwen to upset WHH and Petroni. And he will be sick for a month about it.

You were right ....McEwen wins by 16 ....

McEwen 56

WHH 40

WOW...... Good call Reddevil1....I thought it would be close but not a 16 point blow out with WHH at home.

NCS wins over Jo Byrns

East Robertson wins over Houston County

East Literature wins over Montessori

just to clear it up:

East Robertson beat Montessori and

East Literature beat Houston County! You just simply got them backwards!!

Voldad -- got your East's confused there!! East Lit played Houston Co, won by 11. East Robertson beat Montessori 55-43. East Lit won the coin flip Friday night to get the #1 seed. Thursday's matchups will be East Lit - NC, East Robertson -McEwen. Congrats on your win -- see ya in Clarksville.

OOPS You guys are so totally correct ...sorry about that. Guess I was still in shock over the WHH-McEwen score I lost track of my East schools. Thanks for clearing up my mistake. Look forward to Thursdays games.

Heritage lost to McEwen tonight in the first round of tourney play. The Patriots have had a great season and we are all proud of them. We are sorry that it is over for this year and look forward to next year. I love to watch these boys play and I am proud of each and every one on the team. Thanks to Coach Petrone and Coach Doty for the dedication this year. Good luck to the other teams in the district. It will be interesting to watch.

No suprises in the first round. especially McEwen and WHH. The ggame would of been tough with slagle. Without him no chance. Maybe they should of postponed this game. Too bad cause some of those guys can hoop at WHH. Its a shame they have to act a fool. Didn't another on get kicked out of a game this year? Not much control up there. Good luck to everyone that did make it to clarksville. It should be good.

What's his deal anyway? He was so disrespetful to the McEwen players after the game...would not even shake their hands....no class....Way to go McEwen!!

Doesn't surprise some of us here if Petrone acted unprofessional at the end of the game. I wasn't there but if what you say is true its unfortunate for the players and the fans of WHH for their coach to disrespect McEwen players that way. Again, I wasn't there to see it so I would love to hear from others who were, what exactly happened at the end and actually what happened during the game. How did McEwen beat this WHH team, just curious here, both teams are good and McEwen is playing their best ball at the right time now.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
