Javaris Crittenton.... the number sixteen player in the nation. Omar threw his shot in the stands with the clock winding down, giving SHHS the win over Southwest Atlanta Christian. Science Hill may have lost some games to local teams, but they can also step up their game and hang with teams that have great players. Science Hill plays a transitional game, and it is effective against teams that play on a higher level. Teams here in the Big nine play on a slower level and teams that can shoot... like Central will beat Science Hill if SHHS tries to play their game with them. Science Hill can not beat Central just by shooting three pointers. They should have pounded it down low. Central has no height, and not players that could stop Crowder or Lauderback. Yes, Central was shooting the lights out of the gym, but there was no reason that SHHS should try to match that. No one on Cental's team could stop SHHS's post players. Their tallest player is six three or something. That is the height of our shortest post player. Pounding it down low would eventually get Hess and Buchanon is trouble, and there goes Central's hope of winning.

For one. if the Hill is as good as your fans boast they are, why couldn't they take over and make it a running game. And for two, Central did push it up the court. The shots weren't falling like they usually do. So we took it inside, and your post players couldnt do anything about it. Gabe had 26 and didnt make one three. Hess with 19 and not one three. And yea, we shot alot more free throws but thats because fouling us was the only thing Science Hill could do to try and stop us in the post. I still believe Science Hill is an awesome team, and I wish them the best of luck the rest of the way. But don't say that Central got lucky, because we outplayed SH in the biggest game of the year so far.

Um, who said that Sullivan Central was gonna win State? Not me and I don't think any other Cougar fans said it. YET. Sullivan Central has several things that would make you shake in your boots, If you were a ball player that is. So why don't you shut your mouth and sit up in the stands with your popcorn and propel and watch the Cougars show the D2 teams how it's done at Regionals. Ohhh wait!! You'll be at home watching the Heels get their butts whipped. Heel yeah!! Go HEELS.

Choir boy, hah that's funny. If you only knew  Come and see me at Regionals and I'll sing you a song and show you how I can tie my shoes. HEEL YEAH!

GO COUGARS!

At least the Tarheels are the defending National Champions friom 2005 and they have a winning record this year with freshman. I will probably fall alseep watching the Cougars play in the Regionals because of their redneck basketball skills and style of play. They don't impress me much and they are Overrated!!! Overatted!!! Overrated!!!

Waco, please quit acting like DB is on some other level than we are. We went to State last year, and have been to the sub-state 2 out of the last 3 years. DB didn't even make Regionals last year. So stop acting like you

Been to the substate three out of the last four years. Just thought you should know

Easy there big fella. The Tribe has been to the State 2 out of the last three years. (2 conference titles, 2 Region Titles and 2 sub-state wins). There's still a lot of hoops to be played before you beat your chest too loudly. Oh, and all-time wins/conference titles/head-to-head/region titles/sub-state titles/state tournaments?????? shhhhhhh, that's better.

enrollment, total years in existence, number of players stolen from other schools???????? shhhhhhh, thats better

As for the G-E-D comment, SHHS is recognized as one of the top academic schools in East TN, regardless of athletics. During an interview the other day, the interviewer said it was regarded at the collegiate ranks as one of the best schools in the state. That may or may not be true, but don't hate on the academics. I think it would be hard to find 1200 students, or half the school population, at SHHS who are going to be jailed. SH has three national merit scholar finalists this year, which is very, very rare. Yes, "act scores" may have been a dumb chant, but both sides were guilty of those. A kid from another team said he would hear "Central Cougars" in his sleep the crowd chanted it sooo much. Best of luck to both teams next week...it would be another fun game to watch if a rematch took place.

 hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahhahahahahahahahahahahhahhahaah

are you smoking crack right now?

read the words in BOLD that you wrote one more time...

If you cant beat us..... ANNEX us!!!

You seem to think that the reason the City of Kingsport is on their annex kick again is to get all those blue chip ball players from the county schools. I assure you the annex supporters don't even know what a basketball or football even is.

And if they did, it wouldn't make since anyway. South only beats DB about once every 10 years.

That is the stupidest statement ever. "Because of their redneck basketball skills and style of play" WHAT AN IDIOT! Yeeeeah, I can tell by the way Gabe shoots the ball that he was born in a barn and Weatherford and Hess' 3 pointers are just screaming that they are rednecks. YOU ARE STUPID. I bet you havent even watched one Sullvan Central basketball game this year. GO START YOUR KNOXVILLE THREADS.

In all seriousness, why is there so much hospitality on this board.Central played an amazing game,so us Central fans are going to celebrate it.I don't know why people are getting on here saying ridiculous things like just wait till so and so blah blah.I mean,it's very obvious the people who get on here just to annoy people and who actually have an idea of what they are talking about. Therefore tarheel, good luck to whatever school you go to,you seem like the maddest person on this website so your team must be done for the season or something.Tomatoes tomatos though right, and comexxxoriginal I can't tell if you're in love with Wiggins,or if you try to get on everyone's nerves, either way,Wiggins is the man and he is as good as you say,it is just getting a little old hearing it so often and I would love to see a Central-Greeneville matchup.

Also,I don't know how many teams from around here plan on winning state, which was mentioned before, making the state tournament is a very good accomplishment so stop trying to undermine it by saying they won't win the whole thing.I'm not going for the wholeyou made it to state you should just be happy with that, but it's a very good accomplishment and should be bragged about by fans.

Best of luck to all teams at Regionals :thumb:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
