How can Brentwood play Grissom preseason and it occur during Grissom's regular

season? Have we all missed a rule. If we have not. Explain please. One of 3 possibilities 1. Brentwood commited a violation 2. Grissom committed a violation 3. Both committed a violation and thanks to soccerinfo we have proof. Maybe I am wrong. Usually I am not.

Have you checked with the state of Alabama? Who cares. I think that the violation would be on the belalf of Grissom. I would assume the regular seasons in soccer from tennessee/alabama may not run start at exactly the same time.

It's kind of "hush-hush" around Brentwood. I think people realize that a violation has occured. Ignorance of the law isn't an excuse (nor is ignorance by the coach).

You are NOT allowed to play another state's team in a pre-season match if that state has already begun regular season play. I think it's pretty clear that Brentwood messed up.

Grissom also messed up.

How can you say it's 'hush-hush" around Brentwood? That's nowhere near the truth. Obviously, your screen name is a different 'bruin'. Otherwise, you would know what you are talking about.

i heard you, brentwood, were reported to tssaa. anyone know what the penalty is/will be/if anything

i realize people say "who cares" but thats why there are rules, even if they seem little and insignificant.

anyway, i just thought i would ask if anyone knew if there was a penalty for either team.?

McMinn Co. did it years ago with a school from N. Georgia. What is the big deal?? It is not like they knowingly played ineligible players, or recruited players from another school. They played in what they thought was a scrimmage. There are bigger rules being violated than that.

Here is the big deal. If this is ok then......

1. Teams could play club teams as long as they were preseason

2. Teams could play college teams " " " "

3. Teams could play overlapping winter seasons such as Florida, Texas ect....

All we want is fair play. Just let the rest of the state experience the same advantage without penalty. If it is not on your record you could play alot of great games and not have it impair your season.

They have done this for at least a couple of years. Are we going to take their state championship away?

Both teams are in season, only one is allowed to start official matches and the other can only play friendlies. As long as both register it as such, I don't see the problem.

Can someone explain the rule they broke?
