  1. Here is how it looks to me... Canesoverhere is an adult, but sounds like a teenage girl. siegelplayer4 is a teenage girl, but sounds like an adult. VicFerrari is just jealous that Collierville isn't getting much love. I've taken some shots at Siegel in the past, but before 2 years ago, what has Collierville EVER done in girls soccer? See the blank space above? That is the answer to my question.
  2. Maybe it's time to "stop believing"?
  3. Just checked out Harpeth Hall's schedule. Pretty impressive. No breathers. They may not have any wins, but they have 6 pretty impressive results so far. Hutchison? Last I checked, it was the Week 4 rankings, not the "last 4 years" rankings. Hutchison has some wins vs. teams not in the same class as the teams Harpeth Hall has played so far. If anything, Harpeth Hall maybe should move UP in the rankings if they continue to post decent scores vs. that schedule.
  4. Don't EVER read too much into the results of a 3 or 4-game tournament over the course of one weekend, positive or negative. After the first match, take the other results with a grain of salt. Teams that struggled at the end of the weekend may end up in better shape in the long run because they won't be disillusioned about how good they really are.
  5. On Sunday, Farragut was playing their 5th game in 4 days. They may not have had anything left in the tank for that match.
  6. When people are complaining about officiating, but they don't want you to think that they are complaining, they will spit out the old "concerned about the safety of the players" stuff. If that is the case, then the officiating really isn't any better than the level of play of the players.
  7. 2 things: (1) Looks like Oak Ridge is sure clicking right now! (2) The officiating is NEVER as bad as posters on here claim. It sure it funny to read about it though.
  8. Good job posting that Collierville stuff on a Division 2 thread!
  9. "academics first"? Please admit that you were joking. As long as Bute is a part of that club, academics will NOT be pushed, at all!
  10. I wonder how they will like his whining.
  11. Blames the players when they lose, but is the first to take credit when they win. Likes to point out his "Brazilian coaching style" and that the players play the "Brazilian style"... apparently the Brazilian style isn't a whole lot of fun.
  12. Football: A defensive back gets beaten and pulls down the receiver while the ball is in the air: Punishment: a few yards for the other team Basketball: A player is intentionally fouled from behind on a breakaway: Punishment: one personal foul plus the other team shoots free throws and keeps possession of the ball. Soccer: A forward is intentionally fouled on a breakaway or the goalkeeper comes out and makes a save outside the box with his/her hands: Punishment: RED CARD. TEAM plays short-handed and players miss TWO games? What do you have to do to get "thrown out" of a football or basketball game? ANSWER: a whole lot more than soccer. TSSAA looks at the statistics of players ejected from games and makes a stupid decision. These are all strategic plays in the respective sports. Granted, they are called upon in somewhat desperate situations, but all are strategic and "part of the game". Also, officials in ALL sports should be encouraged to eject players equally in regards to foul language. In soccer, if it is heard from the stands, it is almost automatic. When does language get heard in the stands in football? Never. Therefore, how often is a player ejected for language in football? Rarely. TSSAA gets statistics on language ejections and again thinks there is a problem that is specific to soccer.
  13. 8 players from Oak Ridge made the all district team? Wow! Does anyone NOT make the all district team in that district?
  14. Let me get this straight... A/AA schools have low enrollment, so they don't get to choose from a very big pool. They are fortunate if they have a few good players in their zones, since they don't have the enrollment of AAA schools. You can only go to these schools if you live in their small school zone. Thus, the creation of A/AA in order to level the playing field due to size differences in public schools. However, if a good player, wherever he/she may live, wants to attend one of the private schools, they can. Get one or two of these players and automatically you are one of the best A/AA teams in the state as long as you don't give financial aid? If a pretty good player lived in an A/AA zone, and could afford to attend a private school, why stay in your zoned school if you could challenge for a championship by going private?
  15. Sorry, but I feel nothing for CBHS. It may not be the players fault, but arrogance from the top does trickle down. Good job Lima!
  16. where does ND play their home games?
  17. who scored the Hendersonville goals?
  18. This gets debated every year, but Division 2 really isn't that strong. It is extremely top-heavy. There aren't too many good Division 2 teams not in the state tournament. The top 4-5 Division 2 teams are comparable to the top 4-5 Division 1 teams. AFter that, it drops off fast in Division 2.
  19. This is a little odd. Graduation for Haywood isn't Saturday. Any idea why they couldn't round up 11 players to play this game?
  20. Any idea on the date and time of these games? There are graduations to avoid, so all of the games may not be Saturday. Specifically, when are the Blackman and Farragut games being played? There seems to be a possible graduation issue with those games.
  21. This thread has been allowed to stay open, yet any negative mention about CAK, Tarr, or BigG and it gets closed immediately.
  22. how did tonight end up?
