The first half was ugly..about 3 minutes into the game the score was 2-2..Oneida's defense completely fell apart..It was a much better second half for Oneida..The reffing was bad for both teams..Very inconsistent..How many goals did the other foreigh exchange kid have??

We understand several people from the Kingston community commented that they played their best game by far last night. We got rocked by the foreign invasion last night as the Yellow Jackets got six of their seven goals from players in their exchange program. I don't want to be precieved as bitter, we got smoked, but I was proud of the kids. We are out manned in all our games, yet we just plug away. We are like that fighter that keeps getting beat to a pulp, but just refuses to stay down. I guess I managed to jinx our defense by stating they were making real progress (gelling). They are, you just couldn't tell it last night. They are all pretty young 2 Freshmen (goalie, stopper), 2 Sophmores (sweeper, fullback), and 1 Junior (fullback). By the way, I didn't actually think the game was as easy as bballplayer makes it seem. Oneida's scores came the same way Kingston's did, by jumping on defensive lapses. I thought the best two scoring opportunities in the second half were both from Oneida.(backwards kick that landed on the Kingston net froze the Keeper and the breakaway in the final minute that the Kingston keeper made a great play on) Kingston was very good offensively last night. If they keep that up they will score against Catholic. Good luck to the guys by the Lake the rest of the way, unless we see you again! :D

Kazaam, I have been impressed with the Oneida team for several years. You have really made some progress, and regardless of "jinxing" your team last night, I think you guys are jelling. You got a bumb deal by getting both CAK and Catholic in your district, but you haven't given up. You guys play hard with few subs. You gave Catholic a great match. Be proud. I am looking forward to playing you guys, and I know we are not taking it lightly.

:) Gosh, it's cool that you think that, but really I'll have to deflect some of the complement to my bros on the pitch.(no pun intended) I think for the most part if you let the kids know what you expect, everything they add to that is gravy! Anyways, I appreciate the props!

The Oneida game was deffinitely not the best Kingston has played or can play. Also only three or four of Kingston's goals were scored by their two exchange students...which really should not matter because they are just as much a part of the team as anyone else.

Kazam, You and Coach Wallie on another thread, are great examples of coaches who care, reflect respect for the other team and honor you players. We need coaches like you two in the game. Great Job!!

I'm gonna have to say that Kaz has made my soccer experience these past 4 years a whole lot more enjoyable than if he wasn't around..He's always there for some comic relief when we need it..Nice pic today Kaz :thumb:

Kazam, no disrespect intended but stompNchomp is correct, only 3 of the 7 were from the exchange students. Also, Kingston also won against Lenoir City @ LC who is a very good AAA team that just beat Maryville and only lost to Farragut 1-0. So that was definitely not Kingston's best game of the season, they had way too many lapses in the back. Good luck to you in the rest of your season.

    • I don't know what's going on in the town of McMinnville, but I've read this and it's disturbing.  I'm a "player" person, and I want what's best for the player. If a player gets cut off the team because she said the "F word" then good grief. I mean, come on guys. I wish there was a way for the player to transfer to a different program and just play ball. There are a lot of athletes that are stuck because they're in crappy situations regarding their team/coach. This is player just happens to be one them.
    • Won't happen. College coaches will back the coach every time and it cost this young lady her senior season. Looks like the player may be right on this one. School let her  go after one season. This stuff happens more than you think.
    • “No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team.” For language? I’m not seeing that as a dealbreaker.
    • Why did the coach get rehired after she was let go as an assistant by the former Warren County coach and the current AD?? Is that accurate?? I am very familiar with situations like this. Suprised lawsuits haven't happend before. If the coach unfairly let the player go, I think she has a shot because it cost her a scholarship. No college is going to offer a scholarship to a player that is kicked off of the team. Not going to happen. There are bad hires like this a bunch and kids are treated unfairly by coaches that can't coach a lick and have super long ropes somehow. Amazing how some of these coaches get hired and keep their job.
    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
