FA vs. Trinity

TCA is playing great ball right now. Their" no name" defense swarms to the ball. The O line, except for the addition of Jacob Yandell, has played together for 2 years now and are doing a great job. The backfield has multiple weapons, receivers who can run the ball and backs who can catch the ball. Looking for a great game. TCA 28 FA 21

From what Ive heard about both teams, Im gonna have to go with Fayette Academy in this one. Theres no doubt that Trinity is better than theyve ever been and are a pretty good team, but that doesnt mean that theyre good enough to win the region and go anywhere in the playoffs. Trinity has had one the easiest schedules Ive ever seen so I also believe its a little deceiving when you hear their record. I also think that it may be a little wet tomorrow night, and that will limit Trinity to running more than usual. If they have to run it that much, then their offense wont be nearly as affective. The water wont hurt FA one bit because they run the ball every play anyways, and still no one can stop them.

All that being said, Im going with FA by 2 touchdowns

Excellent post. TCA does indeed have a very deceiving record. This should be a great match-up in the trenches.

Excellent point.. I had not thought about the conditions tomorrow night. I'm going to go ahead and say that FA wins by 10. I think that their line play will be better and offensively they are back to 100%. The weather shouldn't affect their ground game and since it is in Somerville I predict the Vikings will pull it out and win the region championship!

I dont know if you guys have looked at Fayette's schedule or not..but they play the exact same teams as Trinity other than 2..and one of the teams Trinity plays that FA dont is a 3A team!!! So if Trinity's record is decieving then so is FA!!! And the rain isnt going to hurt Trinity at all!!

I really think Fayette is better. They have more experience in games like this and the weather may hurt TCA's passing game. But, TCA seems to be having a magical year. . JCS is their only loss. Fayette only beat JCS 17-14. Sometimes you cant beat MAGIC... TCA has their "MO-JO" going.

Fayette scedule is about the same as TCA's partly due to the fact that 8-1A is top heavy. Fayette did play a strong Harding Acad. team and lost. I hear Harding threw the ball a lot. Maybe giving TCA a way to move the ball but the weather tonight could be dreadful to anyones passing attack.

JCS played a lot tougher schedule (DCA and Jackson South Side)

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
