clevelands freshman will be special

someones allready mentioned riley biggs ( a tough aggressive point guard!)

heather finnell is a top notch 2 or 3 who is one of the hardest working kids ive seen and steps up in big games

erin reilly (hope i got the last name right im having a senior moment) is a strong bodied post with good post moves

and there are others who have extensive aau experience as a previous poster said (including the above mentioned)

add that to an experienced existing varsity with great talent and a very very good coach

well gotta be good things that happen right?

That freshman group won the John C. Haile state tournament last year and were defeated only once in their middle school careers. They have depth that would make most teams cringe as they picked up arguably the 2 best players from the other two middle schools in Cleveland. They will be exciting to watch and have 20+ JV games this year. I doubt if many of them will get to play Varsity much this year, since the Varsity has soo much talent but you never know. This group, if they can stay together, may end up as being a very special group and could make a run at the state each year...... In case you are wondering, NO I don't have a child or ties to this team. I am just a fan.

How much depth does Cleveland have? how far in the bench can they go without missing the starters?

That is the one area I am not sure about, and that could cause them some trouble going into the season. It will also depend on if any of the fab freshmen can contribute and be counted on for quality minutes. I know you would normally not want to depend on freshmen at the varsity level, but this is no normal group of players coming in. I just feel coach will have them ready come tournament time and they will be a team that could go far in the post season. I guess in summary we will all just have to wait and see how the season pans out, but I think if anyone can get the most out of their players and have them ready Coach Powell and Coach Galloway can!
