Murphy's Fair Preseason All-State Teams

Hold up one moment. Don't hate on this topic because something interesting can be brought from it. What's that??? Look at the All-State Selections from back during the summer and look at the players who really excelled in each classification this year. Which of those picks were truly deserving of All-State recognition and which were total busts because they either didn't perform on the field this year OR they were hampered by injuries this year which really hurt their teams chances as well.

 

I'll start and give an example right away. Look at the Class 3A All-State team and you'll see a quarterback on there by the name of Kellen Gower (Marshall County). Kellen had a big year statistically last year as a junior but got hurt this preseason in a scrimmage (broken collarbone). He came back for a limited amount of time and re-injured that collarbone on what would have been his fourth game back in the lineup. Injuries crushed his senior year and his All-State chances are therefore eliminated. Also take a look at where Marshall County was ranked in both Murphy Fair's Preseason Poll (Top 5) as well as Region 5-3A's Coaches Picks (#2). They finished at 3-7 overall and finished fifth in the region meaning that they did not even make the postseason in 2006. Now did Kellen Gower's injury directly relate to the Tigers football team underacheiving this year????? I think that it certainly hampered the team's overall performance on the field

He didn't just get around to picking preseason. I saw that list...well...in the preseason.

OK S L O W E R he just got around to giving out the awards AT SCHOOLS TO THE KIDS HE PICKED!!!!! Jeez.

 

He gave awards to kids for a preseason award. Why? Gee...we can't read your mind. You were not clear with your posts.

Antwan I didn't say he just picked the team. I was trying to say the awards just got delivered to my kid and i looked it up on Murphy Fair.com. I thought it was interesting so I posted it here. It is interesting to look back and see the nomination and to see how the kid's did. I hate that you think I'm that stupid to think this just happened. I was unaware that Murphy Fair had a All State Team posted until the award came home.
