I'm just wondering because although Bateman did roll through the state tournament, is a three time state champ and an outstanding wrestler; he did lose to the 189 state champ Darius williams at Father Ryan. Not taking anything away from Bateman, he's awesome. Is OW just based on the state tounament.

Primarily, yes; but opinions of voters/officials will be influenced by past history and how familiar they may be.

Should the OW be just for the state tournament and have a Wrestler of the Year Award as well? It is always the person with just the best STATE tournament than an entire season that wins it the OW.

The more recognition the better, makes the sport grow, I hope to see the day TN. can compete with the bigger states on all levels.

However, both are Kings and both movies came out in 1956!
