State Tournament predictions

Maybe it's just me but I find it strange almost comical how people are assuming THEIR teams by 10, 15, sometime even 20 points without having an idea of what the opposing team has. Do people even consider the competition before making their predictions or are they all just that biased to think their team is the best team on earth and nobody else matters. Hope I didnt sound like I was complaing just noting an observation.
