The Tennessee Travelers 14-u team finished off a fantastic season by posting an outstanding performance at the Kentucky Hoopfest in Louisville, KY. The Travelers accomplished the following this season:

 

* AAU Eastern Substate Champions

 

* National Grassroots Shootout Champions (Evansville, IN)

 

* 3rd place - AAU State Tournament

 

* Quarterfinals - Kentucky Hoopfest

 

* Overall record of 20-6

i understand the last 2 tournaments was without 2 starters. do they think this would have made a difference in the outcome of these tournaments? how are teh other traveler teams doing this year?

The Travelers 14-u team played without two starters in July (family illness, injury).

 

Good year so far for the Travelers. For more information, go to www.eteamz.active.com/tntravelers. Here are some highlights:

 

* Selected by Nike to serve as host of Nike Memorial Day Classic, one of the top five tournaments in America.

 

* Ten players from 2006 17-u team sign college scholarships.

 

* Guard Jordan Damron named state tournmament MVP.

 

* Former Travelers Lee Humphrey and Corey Brewer help Florida to NCAA Tournament championship. Humphrey becomes NCAA Tournament all-time three-point field goal leader, and Brewer is named Final Four MVP.

 

* Brewer a lottery pick of Minnesota Timberwolves - signs 2-year contract valued at $4.4 million.

 

* Humphrey makes Washington Wizards summer-league team.

 

* 17-under team reaches championship game of prestigous Hoosier Shootout - post huge wins over Indiana Elite and Spiece Gym Rats.

 

* 15-under team wins AAU Eastern Substate, finishes second in both AAU State Tournament and Kentucky Hoopfest, reach quarterfinals of Nike Memorial Day Classic (win pool), Boo Williams Invitational, and final 16 of Hoosier Shootout (win pool).

 

* 16-under team reach final six of King of the South - have two post players playing 17-u only.
