Recombine State Tournament?

Sooo... it's still a hot topic. Guess I'll start another thread about it on this site.

 

Do we want a unified state tournament or keep it the way it is with division 1 and division 2? If you don't know a lot about the reason for the split I recommend you check out the forum on tennesseewrestlingdotnet. It's not illegal for me to advertise other websites, is it?

I am not sure why any wrestler would not want a combined state tournament. All truly good wrestlers want to test their stuff against the best wrestlers in their weight classification. The people that don't wish to have a combined state tournament are those that are marginal champions or place winners, parents and the various school adminstrations that fear loosing their little piece of turf. It was proposed one time to have a combined individual state tournament and not keep any type of team score.

 

JMO, but the adults in charge @ this time in Tennessee would vote down any proposal to combine the individual state tournaments. However, the TSSAA knows for a fact that they could make much more money if they combined to have one individual state tournament.
