Bledsoe and Chase are on fire. I like the way they play as a team and do not always put self first.

I expect to see them at the next level.

Whoa, slow down there, let's not go crazy here.

There is a LONG way to go and Soddy Daisy is a very experienced, quality team.

State Champions? The State championships go through Hardin County as far as I'm concerned. I do think we will see Hardin County in December in the Columbia tournament, so we should know better where we stand.

I just get excited! Sorry. Yeah you're probably right the ring is Hardin's to give away...There is always a tournament that is the measuring stick. Can I say that the final four will be us, soddy daisy, hardin, and uh...who else?

There's nothing wrong with getting excited.

And as far as the final 4 go, I would bet the 4th will be Hendersonville. And, I'm not sure that Soddy Daisy is deep enough to go that far. You've got to be deep to win the team title. They've got Hilary and Heather and after that......

Catsbackr....there is actually a Fall Bash that includes Hixon, Hendersonville, White Station, and Hardin County this Saturday, November 10th at the Savannah Bowling Center. It should be a lot of fun and a great day for all involved with high school bowling and bowling in general.

This saturday sounds like a preview for january. There will be an awful lot of talent there. Either hixson or hardin should take it all though. Hardin reloaded after last year and have been looking strong from what i hear and we know how good hixson is. anyone making the trip?

The Hixson girls go to 5-0 for the season with a 26-1 victory over Baylor. Pinfall totals were 3017-2048.

The Lady Wildcats were led by Allie Chase, 610 (202, 185, 223). Hixson substituted very liberally after the first game and the pinfall totals suffered somewhat.

The girls are indeed in the Fall Bash in Savannah this Saturday and looking very much forward to getting an early indication of where they stand and where they need to improve after facing 3 very tough opponents in Hendersonville, White Station and defending State champions, Hardin County. Unfortunately, I will not be in Savannah, but will attend the Lady 'Cats next tournament on December 1st in Columbia.

Hixson has 2 matches next week, Tuesday versus Notre Dame and Friday versus our friends, the Soddy Daisy Lady Trojans.

Learn from this weekend ladies and let it make you stronger.

Way to go, girls!

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
