Hickman County VS. East Hickman

Speaking strictly about the game....

If Loretto could run the ball with ease against East Hickman, then how much will Hickman County put up on them? I know how everyone likes to think upset but the talent levels here are really, really far apart. Hickman County's defense is also very underrated, in my opinion. They did a fine job against our Lewis County offense last week.

I don't mean any disrepsect but the mercy rule will placed into effect pretty early in this one.

More than likely your right, but thats what happens to a first year school. Plus I'm pullin for East

The first half East had 2 main defenders out for Disp. reasons, they went in the second half, the scoring stopped. if they just kept the second half score it was 7-7. It will be a better game than you think.

I'll tell you what little Dickson boy, Swenser is focused on this game and his team is madder than a two headed rattlesnake. We had a good attitude fridey nite against Lewis co. we just got cheated by those sorry refs.... You need to worry about your little Creekwood team don't worry about us Dawgs. Honey, this team is ready to play some good ball.

Please, HC wasn't cheated by the ref's, you were beaten by a better team last Friday night. How would LC and HC turn out if they play again I don't know but, it sure would be one heck of ballgame. I agree the ref's did a poor job at certain times but, no one was cheated. Good luck and health to both teams.

I will say HC wins this one over in-county rival EH.....

Hickman Co......34

East Hickman.....7

Half time score will be something like 21-0.....HC will be up so they should pull their starters out mid 3rd quarter to make sure they have no pointless injuries on the starting lineup....

I agree that East's boys will be competitive in basketball. But HC having a sorry basketball program, and East being better at every position? No chance, period? Come on, now. Surely you're more educated than that.

The Geico Caveman will be gone in a few years, he has destroyed many good players over the years for no reason, the team has never produced, too many stupid stunts over the years.......................... there is a guy from Belmont that will be coming to start a new program after he is done playing there............. that is a promise.

Great points donhaney. HC will run the ball at will against EH. I think you'll see depth or lack thereof factor into the equation toward the second half as well. HC will try to pound the ball and wear down the Eagles who are thin due to small roster size.

The guy you speak of from Belmont will make a great coach for someone. Very intelligent with a good basketball mind. Hope he does come back to Hickman County.

I agree the ref's made a lot of bad calls on both teams more bigger one 's on us but I don't think they were one sided, I just think they didn't know what they were doing.I think if we had another chance at them it could be different.Because hopefully we would run some different plays, where LC wouldn't know who had the ball, because they had Scott's # last Friday night, plus we made a lot of mistakes.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
