West Carroll @ Bruceton

Bruceton definitely wins Friday night vs. West Carroll, even playing the way they played the last 2 weeks, which is nothing like they played against Huntingdon, Union City, or Lake County. They'd better find their groove again this week though ( especially offensive and defensive line), with the playoffs fast approaching, or it will be a SHORT playoff run.

I don't understand how your back runs for 231 yards and you complain about the line blocking. They must have blocked somebody.

The defense held a good Greenfield team, the best that I ever remember them having, to 6 points, and that on a trick, flea-flicker, half back pass of a thing... Outside of that first drive when Greenfield got into scoring range and the boys stopped them, and the pass we got intercepted from deep in our own territory that gave Greenfield good field position, and we stopped them, they never really threatened to score.

McKenzie could did not stop them on their first drive. They just ran it down their throats. Greenfield self destructed after that versus McKenzie.

I believe that if we can get back and play McKenzie again, it will be a better ballgame, because we have improved defensively and if we play fired up and ready like against Union City, that was our best game to date this year, I feel we can definitely give them a run for their money.

Bruceton did very well defensively, and they have continued to improve defensively when in the 4-3. Abe Hamson has really came on as the season has progressed and I would like to see him more in that L back formation. He is a good runner and has not really been given a chance to prove it.

We got into their territory several times and came away without points. This is something we can't afford to do and go very far in the playoffs. We have came out flat the last two games, why, I don't know, but we need to get it fixed before Manassas roles in here. They have won several ballgames and we definitely can't afford to be flat against them.I know they have won against a lot of weak teams, but they still won.

Does anyone know who will host round two if it pans out to be Bruceton, TCA again?

I saw Bruceton play 2 scrimmage games plus every regular-season game this year, I played 5 years of football, and I have be a fan ever since. Believe me, the Bruceton line is not playing to their potential. Hopefully they will bounce back, but right now they are just not hitting on all cylinders. Gleason's and Greenfield's big plays were running straight up the middle, and outside on the opposite side from Bubba. As for a 231 yard rushing total, maybe you should look deeper than just that number, like how many touches he had, and how many times he broke big runs.

GOOD LUCK FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!! AS ALWAYS, I WILL BE THERE WATCHING.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
