COLLEGE PROSPECTS IN 1A

JUST CURIOUS WHO ARE SOME OF THE COLLEGE PROSPECTS FROM CLASS 1A IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. THE LARGER CLASSIFICATIONS GET THE MEDIA ATTENTION, BUT THERE IS SOME AWFUL GOOD BALL IN SINGLE. EXAMPLE SPRINGFIELD, WHERE I LIVE COULD NOT HAVE STAYED ON THE FIELD AGAINST JO BYRNS. JO BYRNS WOULD HAVE BEATEN A 4-A TEAM HANDILY. GRANTED SPRINGFIELD WAS REALLY BAD.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE CLARKSVILLE REGION IN 4-A SCHOOLS LIKE MTP, JBS, COLLINWOOD, WAYNE COUNTY, CASCADE, GOORDINSVILLE, FCS TC, WATERTOWN, HERITAGE.WOULD HAVE HAD A GOOD CHANCE IN FINISHING AS HIGH AS THIRD.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE 3 A REGION WEST OF NASHVILLE--ALL THE TEAMS ABOVE WOULD NOT ONLY HAVE BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFS, BUT MIGHT HAVE HOSTED A PLAYOFF GAME. COLLEGES WITHING THE AREA SHOULD LOOK AT 1A IN REGIONS 4-6. MANY TEAMS ARE MUCH BETTER THERE THAN IN SOME THE HIGHER CLASSIFICATIONS. (REMINDER ALCOA A 2A TEAM ARGUABLY HAS BEEN THE SECOND BEST TEAM IN THE STATE ONLY BEHIND MARYVILLE. YES, I MEAN THEY WOULD HAVE BEATEN SOME OF THE RECENT 5-A CHAMPIONS)

I AM NOT TRYING TO DISRESPECT ANY 3 A OR 4A TEAMS. THE TOP NOTCH 3A AND 4A TEAMS ARE BETTER THAN THE 1A SCHOOLS. BUT 1A WOULD BE COMPETIVE AND WIN PLAYOFF SPOTS AGAINST THE SECOND TEAR TEAMS

I would love to see some of the Jo Byrns guys like #1, #7, #21, #33 "Go Peay!" In the 5 1/2 years I was at AP (no I am not a doctor!), I never went to a football game. I would be there every home game if they get on at AP. I would also like to see Marco go to AP. They have a program that is getting better by the year and all of these guys could contribute.

Could you imagine Shane at QB with rest of these guys to throw to? By the time they are Seniors they would have played 12 years together, except for Marco...but I'm sure they would catch on to each others rythm. OR any of these guys could be in the defensive backfield.

Hope it pans out!

Good luck to any high school athelete who gets an athletic scholarship or financial aid package. Alot of getting recruited goes to self promotion. No high school coach has the time to contact colleges or the money to send film around. A word to the wise if you want to play on the next level you need to start contacting college coaches and sending film by the spring of your junior year. Be realistic about your level of play. Very few high school players play D-1 or D-1AA. But, there is D-2, NAIA, and D-3. If you look at Tennessee and Kentucky there are at least 25 colleges or more playing football. Most important make sure academically the school fits you and the scholarship and aid money is there. I hope all the guys above and more get to play at the next level if they wish.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
